Good evening.

Some while ago I got the idea of making an Ice Lord costume.

This costume will look like a guy with blue metallic skin and long white hair, with armor and a sword.

I have a basic idea what the costume will look like, but I'm not sure yet if I am to make a custom costume, or make a costume of someone from either a movie, game, painting, or a book that looks the same.

Does anyone know of any cool characters like these from any movies, games or books

If I am to make a custom costume like this, I will have to make up a name for it, and I'm not really good at that.

Ahh, I see.

I dont think I'll be making one of those really, but perhaps something looking like the guy in the painting up there. Doesnt have to be an Ice Lord, but atleast a guy looking like that, walking around some old ruins with a sword.

Also my sweet girlfriend just bought me a short sword that I might carry around on the back of this costume.

Will try to make a drawing of what I have in mind for this.

Have you seen the trailer for Hellboy 2? The villian looks similar to what you're going for.

I probably have to wait for the movie to come out now then to see if I should make a costume after these guys, or if I should make a custom one.

I suppose there is a way to get the movie, perhaps, but thats wrong:rolleyes

Just got the sword now, and its pretty cool, so one has decided to make this a custom costume, unless someone has found even more characters like this that could work as a costume?

Anyone seen anything else?

This is just a makeup test that I did today, and I have made two different hair styles and still dont know which one to choose.

The top photo was the one I did first, and the hair is split in the middle.
The wig I will buy for this costume is also split in the middle.

The second photo is of the hair style that I had mostly in mind, having the hair over my forehead cut in an angle pointing to the middle if that explains it.

Since the wig I will buy has the hair split in the middle, I dont know if I should keep it that way or if its possible to modify it to look like the hair in the second photo.

Personally the reason why I want to make this costume is because I like fantasy, and 80's fantasy stuff like the cool cartoons they used to send with guys like this and all, and the hair style in the second photo reminds me most about 80's fantasy stuff, and the guy "Nekron" from the cartoon movie "Fire And Ice" (photo above) has the same hair style like this. Also since I have lots of dark hair on my head, that would probably be hidden better by that hair style.

But what do you all prefer? I probably look very very wierd in each photo, but which hair style looks the best for this costume?

Both hair styles look good, but I would stear clear of the pointy one for fear of comming off as a Sith Andorian.:cool

Hehe, oh no:eek

I suppose the antennalessness and the ancient looking armor with metal sword will kind of bring it all apart from the futuristic Star Trek stuff, don't you think? But I guess they do look pretty much like them, and I saw photos of them where lots had pointy hair cuts over their foreheads.

Hmm, one must have more guidance to decide :confused

Does the name "Zahn Nekrid" sound any cool? Or does it mean something wierd in another non-english language?

Any other tips about the hair or armor?

Your idea reminds me of a famous anti-hero called Elric of Melnibone'.

You probably know of him from Moorcock novels. He was not an "ice lord" but had the frightening albino quality you seem to be interested in plus he carried a sentient sword called Stormbringer. Stormbringer ate souls.

You might look there for inspiration.

Edit - Why I'll be damned, its the same guy that was in the painting I posted in this topic, I thought that was just a painting, and thats the costume I had in mind that mine should look like.

Got the hair now, and it looks pretty much real for the low price that it had.

I've been looking at the wraiths from Stargate Atlantis, and they look pretty cool, and now I want to use some of their looks as reference.

I want to buy a set of veneers that pretty much look like the teeth of the wraiths - http://www.vampfangs.com/Minion-Veneers-p/ddminion.htm - And would also like to braid (if that's the word) some of the hair of my wig, and also add some small beads or something to make it look more evil-elvish/wraith like.

But one must have guidance, would all this look cool?
