CLONE WARS weekly discussion thread

I'm not surprised. Ahsoka is a character who is neither mentioned or discussed in Episode II or III, so not having her for a whole season would be... appropriate to give our characters time to move on? Still, it's not like they couldn't give her a story that takes place elsewhere without interacting with the big mains.

And as I said, I think they will, be it in Rebels or some other yet to be determined programming. She is a very popular character and Disney won't squander the opportunity to expand the SW franchise to be more accessible for young girls.

In that case I hope Disney execs don't run on the same principles as the Warner Bros. execs.

I think of all studios Disney most/best appreciates its female audience and the idea of selling toys (and other merchandise) to girls, you only have to look at the success of their princess line to see that, if anything Disney has had the opposite and has a hard time with coming with a line of merchandise that appeals to boys as much as their princesses did to girls. This probably explains their buying of Marvel and Lucas/Star Wars, they needed franchises that will appeal to boys that will buy toys and other merchandise associated with them. A Bryancd mentioned, Disney knows the appeal that Ahsoka has to girls and the numbers of girls (of various ages) she attracts to the show and in return who will (hopefully) buy associated merchandise.

Exactly right. Disney properties are lousy with female characters that young girls adore. They have a massive hole in the reciprocal boy market. LucasFilm and Marvel command a massive young boy fan base but struggle to draw in the girls. Disney will not allow either demographic go fallow.

Just a reminder, the comic mini series which finishes the Darth Maul storyline is coming in May.

Getting cut in half by Obi-Wan Kenobi and being rejected by his former Sith master Darth Sidious isn’t going to defeat Darth Maul. In fact, it only makes him mad enough to take on the galaxy—with an army of Mandalorians!

A part of The Clone Wars season 6 you never saw!

don't forget in less than five days, on March 7th, the long-awaited 13-episode Season 6 will hit Netflix! The Saga goes on!

For me I'm going to savour this season by not doing a marathon... I will watch one episode every Friday night like the old way... to stretch it out and give me something to look forward to for 2 months! :D

I plan to watch them as fast as possible. However since I want to share the experience with my son and daughter it has to fit into all three of our schedules.

I finally got around to watching all of the previews last night and one thing that I thought was really cool in them were the scenes of the clone troopers carrying shields like the stormtroopers did in some of McQuarrie's early concept drawings.

*Loudly cheers the new episodes, just into the first of "The Lost Missions" so far its pretty good could just be my lack of and yearning for the show... :)

I'm halfway through...great season! ROTS took on the War on Terror, and TCW is taking on the bank bailout...seems like SW has become an equal opportunity satirist! Jar Jar is hilarious this season. I genuinely mean that :)

Im just starting the Final arc with yoda think its like 5 episodes.. so far these are some great episodes. to bad the series ended so fast they should have did a proper season and finale leading into episode 3.. Oh Well hopefully Rebels can find it`s ground quickly and maybe we can get another darker series as TCW was headed...
