Clone/Droid Helmet, help and ideas.

Started kind of a fan fiction piece
Just looking for suggestions.

It's based on my love of characters like Johnny5, HK-47 (KotOR), B1-663r from the animatrix, unit 3000-21 etc.

Loosly the idea that I kicked around in my head was along the lines of a droid stayed active after the clone wars either from being damaged or tampered with by clones. With the control signal off, it gained a kind of self awareness, free will, self preservation instinct, and a desire to upgrade.

It grabbed a clone helmet to try to appear more human and started smuggling bounty hunting assassinating to make money for his upgrades.

He's a robot with self-awareness that tries to figure out existential questions like the meaning and purpose of his existence, the definition of life and if he is alive.
or somethin like that.

Anyhow this is not an attempt of being movie accurate, I just want it to look cool.

Yes, those are little mermaid dixie cups...
I do like the idea of the 'ol 1950s round eyed robot look but I'm still debating on if i should just go with the standard clone visor with some red LEDs as eyes. The problem with the round eyes is that it's more work and if I put LEDs in them them i might not be able to see. On top of that the round eyes are going to completely kill any peripheral vision.
Thoughts?

This is the voice changer which I'm pretty damn happy with. Makes lots of cool sounds and it's wired to some LEDs that will go in the "mouth" holes so when I speak the mouth will light up red.

I want to circuit bend this with a pot so I can pitch shift. I know what resistor to replace but its a chip resistor which I'm not familiar with.

My question if the chip resistors are hard to unsolder and if a standard potentiometer would work. Also what kind of resistor do I use to go from the board to the pot?

The paint is just a test, I'm planning on making this thing look really beat up, dirty and rusty.

Anyone have any suggestion on paint? Maybe some color and where the color should go?

Other stuff:
This was originally a cpt rex helm so I have one of those antena things that rotates from being vertical to in front of the visor. I was planing on making into a sight. Made out of a piece of clear acrylic with engravings that would light up when hit by the LED.

Unless someone has something cooler I could do with it?

Glow:
The area under the "cheeks" are going to be lit up by a fiber optic/LED set up that kinda acts like a less bright EL wire.

I'm going to have some more of this left over and don't know what to do with it.

Im toying with the idea of putting in speakers attached to a mini jack so i can plug in an ipod shuffle and have this thing play:

Robot rock

I also picked up one of these arm blaster things for future additions to this project

I know some purists are probably scoffing at this now but hey, making accurate recreations isn't my thing, I'd rather create something original.

Any feedback or ideas would really be appreciated, thanks for reading guys!

Hey I love cool stuff like this! I think you could look at dengar and other bounty hunters for inspiration for mixing armor and parts.

The modded TIE helmet in cloud city has a feel of this helmet IMO.

Ill follow this.

Edit: I think the color of Dengars suit is awesome. Might work for your project also?

Cool, I do like the look of that armors weathering but I do want to keep a silvery metallic look, the rust on that looks really good though.

Anyone have tips on how to paint realistic rusting? I especially am curious as to the best way to get the "dripping" rust look that you see from seems and screw holes.
