Here is a prop i wanted to do for years as I am a huge Barker fan and love the movie Nightbreed. I recently found really good reference material. Whenever i can't work on my larger projects (milling in the attack at night=very angry wife+sleep deprived kids), while i am electroetching, etc, i tens to work on smaller personal projects like this one.

So, i bought a pipe endcap with a diameter that i thought was close (a little over 4") and cut off the end. I made a styrene skeleton for the 'W and added clay and started sculptiung until i was happy with the look.
I then added texture to make it look like old metal, gave it a coat of paint and made a silicone mold. I cast the pieces in resin and made the hinge work by putting a piece of metal rod through the small section and puttying up the recesses i made in the large piece with steel putty. When it was dry i added the same texture to it.
Then i primed it, gave it a coat of flat black and drybrushed dark silver on it. Then a hint of drybrushing with bunt sienna and it was done.
The chain (while not totally accurate), was made using chain from the hardware store. It was shiny chrome, so i stripped the chrome in a closed jar with warm ammonia. I made a loop of old leather string and glued it secure in a short piece of aluminium pipe. A hole was drilled in the top section of the amulet and the chain was attached.
Really like how it turned out, thanks for looking
