Clear resin question: heating part A

So, i needed to do some casting in clear resin. I get my bottles of smooth-on clear cast 202 out of my shed. Fairly new bottles, only opened once. Turns out part A has become very thick (probably due to the cold), but is still very clear (so i guess no moisture contamination.

As a test i put some in a plastic container and heated it up in the microwave. It immediately becomes liquid again and when i mixed it with part B it became rock hard, clear and virtually bubbleless in less than 10 minutes (normal curing takes a good couple of hours.

So, i know heat accelerates curing time, but does this affect the cured resin in any way? Anybody else any experience with this, can you do this with normal resin too?

Thanks,

Marc

I only know that heating cured resin will harden it. I don't know if heating it early will have an effect on the castings.

Heat definiteley inreases curing time. I often heat my molds in the oven before casting, seems to help reduce bubbling & also fires off the chemical reaction very quickly

Too much heat can cause clear-cast to crystalise, but I haven't used the smooth-on clear.
