Hello,

I have a ninja turtle costume made from Daniel Bravo, and I was wondering what the best way to clean the costume was and also how to get rid of mold.

There are a few spots of white mold that were on the costume. I used lysal, and spot washed it. Everything turned out okay, but some of the paint came off when I used the lysal and or rubbing alcohol.

How do I clean the suit propperly to prevent damage?

I just had to rescue my Darth Talon lekku as we have some major damp issues here in west Auckland. I drushed with a clean cloth first and then aired them out for a few days.

It sounds like the paint/print is solvent based, so I'd not recommend anything more than a damp cloth, maybe warm water, and a small amount of plain dish detergent. Airing is a big deal, but not putting in to direct sunlight because- UV.

Latex does degrade over time so it is best to not interfere too much with it to help it last longer. All my own cast latex pieces have lasted since at least 2010, but the blad caps etc. I have purchased all degrade in a short time with exposure to petrochemicals in the packaging :)
