Chuck TV series spy props

I love Season 2 of Chuck, and would love to own some of the cooler, more spy orientated props featured.

If you've got any more than I've got here, post 'em up (I haven't seen Season 3 yet - is there a season 4? - so I don't know about any from there).

Easiest to acquire would be Chucks CIA government issue watch with built in location tracker and two way audio communications:

From this screencap I identified it as a Casio MTG910DA-1V G-Shock MT-G watch which retail for around $130.

I'd love a prop of the CIA Intersect 2.0 Cypher featured in Episode 1 of Season 2:

Any ideas how you could go about creating this? I'm thinking 3D modelling and laser etching would probably be needed, but anyone think it could be done convincingly in some other (cheap, possible-to-do-without-specialist-software-and-equipment) way? Maybe carefully cut and painted thin styrene sheets?

And of course the full Interesect 2.0 computer would be great:

I've seen a nice replica made on instructable.com, but that one uses a paraffin wax cube. Do semi-transparent cubes exist already? If not, what material (pressumably some type of acrylic) could be used to cut out the pieces to make the sides of the cube?

There's also Casey's tranq dart Buy More pen which could be cool if the pen could be made at some customisable stationary place (but I don't have any pics of that).

In one episode Casey uses a Creative Labs Zen Vision W MP3 player to open the door (in the locker) to Castle in Buy More.

Heya Howl!

I personally would do it with styrene sheets. Some of the rounder edges can be brushed with a solvent to smooth them out, and this thing is definitely layered geometric designs. The "circuitry" already looks hand-drawn.

Are there any top down shot's of the intersect? So we could see what the top of the cylinder and the "panels" on the base look like?

I'd really like to give this one a shot.

To me, it looks like they took a 4x4 Rubix Cube, created a mold from it and casted their own replica in clear resin.

Exactly what I was thinking. If you cast all 6 sides sepatarely, you could add crushed cellophane to the center the help with that funky glow it has internally.

According to someone who says they worked on the original Intersect Cube for the show (who posted in the comments on the Instructables.com build - Chuck TV Intersect Cube DIY working model), the cube prop was made from individual panels:

"each panel is cut out of a milk plex (gavarelli 2447 if I remember correctly) and the grid is a V angle cut that was put in by a router. The cube also had a small cluster ball of LEDs hand wired and surrounded by cotton batting and other diffusion materials"

I've gotten a pretty good quote from an acrylic company to have the cube faces cut from 5mm thick frosted acrylic and have the lines routed in (it will come as a pre-built 5-sided cube with a seperate 6th face that I can glue in place once I've installed lights, etc). Just checking on a few details, then will likely go ahead with it.

I checked the later episodes for pics of the base from the top, but the very best, and pretty much only, shot showing it is this one:

After this, the cube and tube assembly are removed from the base and carried around without it, so it's not seen again.

I have several of the Chuck IDs by Reel Fakes. They are great. He even put together one of the Nerd Herd ID badges with my name and picture. I need to put together the pocket protector though as Chuck uses his.

The Intersect Cypher would be awesome. A great desktop item to be displayed here at the office. :)

Just watched the Black Friday episode (season 4, episode 10). I would love to try to make the headset that Casey wears to activate the Buy More's defenses.

I also want to try the device that Chuck's mother showed him to deactivate the intersect (season 4, episode 7). It appears to be a modified PSP, and I happen to have a broken one.

If anyone could post screen caps of these two props I would appreciate it.

I've started on building the Intersect 2.0 - so far this is a prototype. I say prototype as when it arrived, actually having it in hand showed that my measurements were off and it is too big. I will therefore have to have a smaller one made.

Here it is - the cube portion of the Intersect 2.0 - with a mini maglite torch placed inside it to show the rough finished effect:

This cube is 10cm along each edge. I now calculate that it should actually be 3 inches along each edge in order to be the correct size.

Howlrunner, did you get any further along with your replica?
With Chuck ending I want (at some point, time, money and my lack of skills permitting!), to build a replica intersect cube, after seeing the guide on instructables a few years ago, and now just found your posts.

No, I never got any further with this. The company that made the cube I have pictured above closed for the winter and never seemed to reopen, so I didn't get a smaller cube made. Other companies wanted a fortune to do the same thing. So the whole thing ground to a halt and I moved on to other projects.

I know this is resurrecting an old thread, but what about the Intersect Glasses seen throughout the seasons? Any word on what glasses were used?
