Chronicle Collectibles Gone?

I got 4 refund notices this morning from Partial.ly form chronicle. I am not sure if they are for payments or repeats of the same emails. Will see once they hit the account. It was a bank account.

Same, I had pre-order the cryo can and received a bunch of these emails for each of my payments:

Unfortunately, the merchant, Chronicle Collectibles, will be unable to fulfill your order.

A refund of 30.0 was successfully processed to payment method card ending in XXXX. Please allow 5-10 business days for the refund to clear your bank account.

Looks like I will just make my own imstead, really wanted a metal one.

I just received all of my Moya refunds per above. It looks like Partial.ly sends out a notice of refund for each payment.

I received 9 notices for a $48 refund each and one for $57 which was the very first Moya payment.

I unfortunately have a lot of product still waiting - Stargate Coverstone, JP Goggles, Sid Mead Blaster, Right Hand of Doom, Cryocan,,,

I also got all my refunds (each payment on a separate email) for a Cryocan from an email I sent this morning to Partial.ly.

If anyone hasnt asked already, hurry up in case they stop honouring the refunds.

Hello all! Super new member. I came here looking for some answers regarding Chronicle Collectibles, to see if others had received refunds, and if CC were going under.
Certainly looks that way now. Anyway, I can also confirm I received several refunds for the preorder I made for the Jurassic Park Cryo-Can. I was looking forward to that replica, oh well would be nice to attempt making it myself someday.

Not so good news for ACH payment users...

I had a couple items ordered from Chronicles thru Sideshow. since 2018....after a long wait on the phone I got an immediate FULL refund (including my "non-refundable deposits") with no problems. If you go to Sideshows website...you may have to wait in line to get on their website because right now they are overwhelmed plus their phones are very busy.
What I don't understand is the guy working at Sideshow has heard nothing about Chronicles.....very strange. I hope this isn't a hoax.

Well, I've not been collecting much lately cause I'm raising a new kid. Just checked up on my $1500 of Chronicle preorders to find this news. I've got the raptor bust on order, and some other stuff that's over a year old. I've already long paid for everything. I contacted Partial.ly, but I'm betting there's no money left in Chronicle's account to refund. Do they work like Paypal where they'll refund it even if Chronicle isn't good for it? Or, am I probably just hosed at this point? Man is this gutting. I won't be getting the stuff and I lose $1500 that I really can't afford to just eat.

Is this the END of large scale pre-orders ? With so many people losing their money or having to go through the hassle of trying to get it back, who will ever trust this type of company again ?

Once bitten, twice shy.

This is so sad, they did produce some nice props for decent prices, even tho they did not really keep their deadlines... But I have a few props from them and they are good. Also, I heard they were in a middle of a lawsuit with an older employer, I wonder if this is what caused all of this on top of COVID.

That's my feeling too, I've seen quite a few company's talk about Covid impacting the supply chain/their ability to do business in general. Admittedly I'm not familiar with CC's usual refund process, but I imagine they were already dealing with a good few customers who were laid off and asking to cancel/refund their preorders. That, plus general Covid woes, plus whatever they were dealing with after the lawsuit, might've been the combination that pushed things over the edge.

I'm sorry, but I have a hard time feeling bad for a company that just took me for $1500. The only people here that deserve pity are their customers and maybe some of their employees.

Is that letter from their attorney designed to generate sympathy for them?

Yeah to clarify, I definitely don't want to come across as defending CC, more that I think it's a shame that it ended this way given there was obvious talent at the company that has now been given the heave-ho due to whatever caused this downward spiral. We speculate that the closure was at least due in part to Covid, but it's also possible that it was entirely the result of poor planning/business decisions led them here.

I really don't understand why they chose to post the letter at all, it really does nothing to assuage people's fears. Customers have been reading rumours of a closure for a week, why would they be comforted by a legalese letter posted by a bankruptcy lawyer politely asking them not to seek a refund on the off chance that they can bounce back in 30 days? Who would be willing to take that chance.
