Christmas movies my family looks forward to

Muppet Christmas Carol

The kids like to watch the Santa Clause movies, but I can't get into them.

And it has been a tradition since it aired, to watch the MacGyver christmas episode (The Madonna, season 5 ep 11)

Well here is my list:

A Christmas Carol, (George C. Scott, best version ever!)
Christmas Story
Elf, (Uncut, DVD, not USA's rerun all day marathon crap...)
It's a Wonderful Life, (Jimmy Stewart, Donna Reed=Classic!)

Now for the awesome TV classics:

Santa Clause is Coming to Town
Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer
A Charlie Brown Christmas, (I will also listen to the soundtrack repeatedly.)
How the Grinch Stole Christmas
Batman: The Animated Series episode 2: "Christmas with the Joker." (One of the best episodes ever!) :)

I am sure I missed a few, but these are the ones I KNOW we'll be watching. :)

Personally, it's not really Christmas unless I watch one of two MST3K episodes:

#321 -- Santa Claus vs. the Martians

or

#521 -- Santa Claus

Usually it helps to have a mini MST3K marathon in there, too, since that's what they used to do back on Comedy Central (also for Thanksgiving).

One of my "newer" classics is Santa VS the Snowman. The longer version, not the shorter IMAX version.

Great TESB-like snow battle!!

In no particular order...

  • The Santa Clause - I can still remember sneaking my giant peppermint stick in the the theater up my coat sleeve. But I only really like this one, not so much the sequels.
  • Home Alone 1 & 2 - I bought the 1 and 2 Blu ray collection weeks ago at a fantastic off season price!
  • Miracle on 34th Street (Natalie Wood)
  • Christmas Vacation
  • How the Grinch Stole Christmas (Cartoon & Ron Howard/Jim Carrey)
  • The Holiday
  • A Christmas Story
  • A Charlie Brown Christmas
  • Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer
  • Frosty the Snowman
and probably so many more.

All good choices! Me, it's

Christmas Vacation
Scrooged
How the Grinch Stole Christmas (cartoon and live action)
Scrooge (has to be the Alistair Sim)
And for the Canadians on the board - Bowser and Blue Two Nuts Roasting on an Open Fire (Hey, Santa! Where's me ****ing Bike!)

Can't deal with A Wonderful Life again, seen it too many times.
