Thanks for those photos! I'm glad to see Hopper back in uniform!

Yes the holster is very strange-looking. Notice that it doesn't ride on the belt at all like a Border Patrol holster.

He's wearing the Season 3 belt, narrower and black like Season 1 but with what appears to be the square 1.5 inch "garrison belt" or "duty belt" buckle.

Here's a quick comparison of his uniform in seasons 1, 2, 3, and 5.

Happily his hat, shirt, and pants appear to stay the same for seasons 1, 2, and 5. (I'm not really interested in getting that new holster.)

I can't remember, which revolver does he use in Season 3? As we know it's a S&W in Season 1 and a Colt in Season 2. It looks like it has black plastic/rubber grips in that Season 3 pic.

Not my favorite look for the uniform but I never got my hands on the accurate Tex shoemaker holster either.

I've had an ongoing search on Ebay for a blue B9 parka like Hopper's and one has come up.

It's 2XL which would probably be the size David Harbour would wear. (He and I are pretty much the same size BTW.)

It looks pretty darn good to me. It's the dull shell etc.

The opening bid is really low and nobody has bid. I would buy it but in truth I'd never wear it.

What we won't know till somebody bids is whether there's a reserve price.

Does make you wonder.

My theory about the switch of revolvers between S1 and S2 is that after S1 was in the can they returned the S&W to the rental firm, but when they went back to rent it for S2 it was out on some other project, so they got the closest-looking revolver they could find.

But they don't rent holsters do they? They would have bought the S1 Tex Shoemaker. In truth they would have bought multiples, perhaps a half-dozen. Why on earth they didn't hold onto them who can say.

I never got my hands on the accurate Tex shoemaker holster.

It's tough. I had several ongoing Ebay searches until one showed up, which took a couple years.

Since similar-style holsters were available in black, and quite cheaply, I initially just bought one of those and painted it.

I think I only paid $30 for the black one on Ebay. It was a Don Hume 216 they're still inexpensive Don Hume 216 for sale | eBay

I just now checked Ebay and the prices of those Border Patrol holsters has skyrocketed.

Nobody was bidding so I got the parka for only $40.

Now I have to get a Hawkins Police patch and the pickings on Etsy and Ebay are slim. The most accurate one (which many people are selling) looks a bit crudely made.

There's another B9 Parka in size Medium up now on Ebay for $50.

I just now posted on the dedicated Hopper Parka thread Stranger Things: Chief Jim Hopper's winter jacket?
that my B-9 has arrived and it's really nice.

I'll be patching it up soon. Perfect timings- a new-to-me seller popped up with a nicer-looking Hawkins PD patch which I bought.

Here's my parka with the patches laid on it

A number of current Hawkins Police patches on Ebay and Etsy, and various others as well.

Upper left is the graphic painstakingly created by Pinder91 which by far the most accurate rendering of the Hero patch.

What follows shows just how many ways people can do the patch wrongly. (I suppose if the Hawkins Police Department had been around for a century one might see some variants like this over the years- good for flashback scenes.)

Top row 2nd from left is the "official" graphic of the HPD patch seen, for example, in the original Mood Board. Note its many differences from the Hero patches as made for the show.

Top row 2nd from right is the Licensed patch that's widely available. Not sure if the background is dark blue or black. Note that it lacks "Indiana" above the star.

Top row centre and far right are patches which appear to follow the original graphic but have black backgrounds.

2nd row L-R:

3rd row are some of the strangest ones currently up on Ebay (June 2025). One has even replaced the bottom diamond with another star!

Bottom row are several on Etsy. Two of them made the stars blue!! Bottom row 2nd from right has a white border in addition to the gold border.

Quite odd is bottom row centre, where the torch has become, what, a silhouette of Hopper??
