Cheap EVA Foam

Hey fellow foam makers! Just wanted to give you guys a heads up that Harbor Freight has packs of 4 foam mats for 7 bucks! They're roughly 1/2 inch thick.

If you're looking to get started building with EVA foam, this is an absolute steal of a price! Great for making prototypes

A lot of people think that you can't use thick foam to make armor, but I've found that you need thick foam to make pieces sturdy and strong. It holds together great! I left my Iron Man suit in my car in the sun for two hours and it was still glued together!

Anyway check em out guys! The sale doesn't last forever!

I've been using Harbor Freight foam for awhile. It's decent quality, cheap, and has nice texture on one side (if you need it). The only issue is their foam tends to have alot of bubbles in it, but at the price, that much waste isn't a big deal. I've also noticed that some packs have a slightly thinner (about 3/8" or so), but are still marked as 1/2". I'm not sure if it was a few one offs that I bought, but they've been great for adding detail that 3mm foam doesn't fill. Make sure to do a quick measurement on the pack when you buy it.

Man, the closest Harbor frieght is a half hour away from me in another town.

Curses! Foiled again by the whimsies of fate!

Pfff, if I had one a mere half-hour a way I'd go there daily.

Planning on going Tuesday, so I'll be sure to check those out. I don't build foam armor, but it's great for making sanding blocks and padding inside things.
