Hi All,

Here is my first prop replica, thanks to the excellent work and generosity of the original creator of the label. (Sorry no access to the paper prop forum yet to give you his name)... :)

I printed these out on some Quill Metallique paper, color "Mother of Pearl" for a nice expensive wine label sheen.

Turned out very well, and my brother in law, who is an avid trekkie was very happy with his birthday present. :)

Well done! Did you leave any of the wine in the bottles? :lol

Those look great, excellent choice of paper for your label.

How did you cut them out and what did you use to attach them to the bottles? Curious about others methods.

Dude, that's gotta be the nicest replica of those labels I've ever seen!

Very well done. Sweet choice of paper as well. It looks just gorgeous!

The choice of paper really sells it. Those would be great additions to anyone’s collection.

Whenever cutting straight lines in paper, ALWAYS use a guillotine, and start from the factory edge and work in 90 degree increments from it. Everything will always be square and true.

I just used a standard paper glue stick to stick them on, covering the entire back surface with glue to avoid blistering. You sometime end up with a smear of glue coming out the edges, but a damp cloth takes it right off.

I printed these on my color laser printer, so if you use an inkjet you need to be a lot more careful to avoid moisture on the print.

Thanks for the comments, you have inspired me to try some other stuff! :)

Oh yeah, there is no good way to cut a curved line, so you just have to be ultra accurate with good quality scissors.

(I steal my wifes dressmaking ones, they work very well) :love

Thank you very much for the info. I always use a paper cutter for the straight edges. Your curved edges look great. I also use my wife's scissors as well.

Excellent prop.

Best,

Well I don't mind doing up some labels and sending them out. You have to keep in mind that I was not the original creator of the artwork, so I don't want to take any credit for his good work there.

I am going to Sydney for the weekend, so when I get back i'll try and figure out the best way to send them overseas for you guys. They will probably need to be sandwiched between some cardboard for protection, but you'll need to cut them out and glue them on....

Wine will not be included. :)

Hi missileman,

thank you for using my graphic. This is the best printed label I've ever seen, congratulations.

It seems that you cut a little bit too much on the left side of the label and left a little bit on the lower part.

So long and keep on trekking
