Charlie pushed Chuck a little too far! 2 1/2 Men canceled mid-season

I can't tell you guys how happy I am. That show was just plain terrible. I feel for the people who have lost the jobs because of Sheen, but I feel the majority of crew was made up of people making different laugh tracks and pressing the laugh track button anytime someone spoke.

Even if they hadn't canceled this season those people wouldve been out of a job soon anyways. You dont keep on using that many stimulants and live very long. I know its a bit messed up, but I doubt he'll last the summer unless he gets serious about getting some help. This rehab at home crap isnt going to do it. He already claimed he cured himself of his addiction using "the power of his mind". The guy's a loon.

Not really the majority - in fact, there may have only been one sound mixer on the show who did that. The majority of the crew are grips, electricians, set construction, PA's, writer and producer assistants, PROP masters, camera operators, AD's, etc.

Anyway, here's the latest on the whole debacle:

CBS & WBTV’s PR Nightmare: Charlie Sheen Unloads Again. Is Ninth Season Possible? – Deadline.com

Me too. I don't think the show's ratings are a direct result of Sheen's train wreck of a life. I think the show is well written and has a great cast, and to be honest, until recently, Charlie really hasn't been doing anything all that abnormal for a Hollywood rat pack actor.

I too feel for all the people crewing the show who are out of work.

If Sheen has a public relations consultant, they're absolutely terrible at reigning in their client. I can understand his desire to rant, but most people have the ability to act professionally on the job. Someone as well paid as him probably has at least one personal assistant and probably more than one as well as someone whose job it is to handle PR. Don't stars have some morality clause in their contracts?

They should just pay him to use his likeness in a tele-movie that closes the show with his funeral. They can roll through as many attractive guest stars from the show as they can manage and tie up Jon Cryer, the house keeper and the kid's story lines all at the same time/

So... a show should continue just to keep people working? Regardless of how things turn out... just keep going to prevent them from going out of work? Surely those people will find other work on a new show or something better.

Steady gigs on a long running series are harder and harder to come by these days. Most networks are only picking up shows in orders of 6, 10, or 13 episodes as opposed to the 22 or more that used to be pretty standard. And if you're booked on one show that goes down mid-season, most of the others are already crewed up. Hard to budget and plan when you thought you'd be going back to work after Christmas and it looks like no end in sight.

Not that people at the bottom of the ladder had regular work. I work a weekly show, and aside from three of us, everyone else is rotated through. I work with a lot of the same people, but not week to week. A good percent of the people I do work with are unpaid interns.

Under normal cancellations, most of the low level P.A.'s will be cast out to fend for themselves. The camera ops and others at that level will find other work.

But under this particular circumstance, I am guessing even the P.A.'s will find work soon.

I was wagering that the all-mighty $$ would win out, and they would keep the cash cow going, even if they got rid of Sheen. It is looking like I may lose this one, but fear not, there is always syndication $$.

Good thing that charlie has a new porn star to hang out with.

Yep, it's too big to simply let fall right now, they will milk it for everything... But on the same token the public LOVES Charlie Sheen's antics off screen (at least every survey suggest they do) so his carrier is far from over, as he is still ripe for exploitation and someone will put up with his antics as it's worth millions to do so...

Heck at this point in the game he could self-produce and some network would almost certainly snap it up...

You must not be keeping up? The X-porn start is still living with him but he has a new girlfriend, and he is attempting to hold on to the relationship with his wife... The other day the headlines said he was taking all three ladies on a tropical vacation together...

Charlie got 2 mil an episode not one. I personally love the guy and theres no telling why he went off - its easy to blame it all on sheen and his "condition" but within his rant he did say the creator was trying to end the show anyway and Sheens last rehab was going to be where he hung the blame. Ah- who cares, i love a good hollywood meltdown

Emilio could use the work and he can be just as funny. It's a shame as charlie's great at comedy. This morning it was they show was postponed but now it sounds like they just gave up.
