I designed and built this space ship a while ago and finally got around to texture mapping it. I know it's made of polygons and not plastic and bondo but someday I hope to maybe build one for reals. I thought I'd post it and see what you guys think.
Thanks guys! How does it land? .... Very carefully... ba dum da. Ya, not sure how it lands exactly. It could be like a tie fighter where there's some sort of hanger system or maybe some long legs pop out of the lower panels or along the lower ridge center piece... maybe. 8)
I like it! Cool color scheme. A-wing inspired? Maybe it lands with the guns facing straight up and if the cockpit can rotate, it rotates down so it's level with the ground. Then a ramp can extend down from the rear or on the side of one of the gunpods.
Thanks guys! Yeah, I think I'm hooked on the 70's-80's style of sci-fi ships. I definitely had the A-wing colors in mind when I was texturing. Here's a couple more angles.
That's one of the better "expanded universe" types of designs. It looks very much like a weathered miniature compared to most CG creations I've seen. Great job! Love it!
I envision the outer ring rotating until the main engine if facing down, while the inner ring with flight deck remains forward facing. Then landing pads could extend from the back (bottom) of the outer ring for landing.
Awesome design. The coloring is definitely A-wing, but the design looks like it was made by the folks who made the B-wing. (The Verpine. Sheesh, I'm such a geek for knowing that without looking... LOL)
Slightly weird, nay goofy design which is why I like it.
Oh hell why not say what I really mean.......Freaking AWESOME!! if that ever got kitted and didn't cost a second mortgage I'd grab one. Thanks for sharing
Thanks for the nice comments everyone! I actually built a cnc mill a couple of years ago but I haven't really had time to use it that much. Having a
Baby will do that 8). It'd be cool to try to mill this ship one day. If I ever do that, I'll definitely post some photos.
