Casual Judge build

So I've been asked to be a cosplay judge at a convention here in Australia... I figured if i'm being a judge i better dress like one!
I'm building an armoured vest, helmet and modifying a Nerf gun for the Lawgiver... dress pants shirt and tie, just Casual Judge

Basing it off Dredd 2012 but putting in my own artistic influence i'm making the body armour with EVA foam but fiberglassing the helmet.

keeping the essence of Judge armour I drew the outlines then heated the foam into shape before bringing out the pieces 3 dimensionally.

last is the Lawgiver... definately not screen accurate but certainly does have the feel of a Lawgiver

more progress with the Helmet, armour and Lawgiver


so I've attached the armour with velcro to an air soft vest i had forgotten about, works great... I also attached a mock Zip and had a friend who is an engraver/laser cutter make me up the Judge Badge.



and the Nerf Lawgiver I squared off the rear end, sanded, painted and added lights

thanks man! I first thought about using perspex but in the end i bought a cheap motorcycle helmet visor off of ebay. they had a few different colours too like gold, silver, black tint... i liked this just to be different

Nice spin on the Judge uniform. You've got the key elements locked in just right, that maintain the distnct judge look: helmet, vest, badge, LG. The casual look (no leathers) will save you from the agonizing heat build up that would otherwise exhaust you with a full suit outdoors or without shade or AC.
