For a long time I was wanting to make a replica of the Fr. Malone journal from Carpenter's "The Fog". But there was so little information/photos available online to even start to tackle it.
Last month on revisiting researching, seems the person that owns the OG prop now, did a pretty cool video, and a read through from Page 1 to the end!- and some great shots of most of the pages! Kind of the dream for a prop like this for anyone wanting to make a replica! (Starts about 5min 20ish) Kinda like that full video of Ash flicking through all the pages of the Necronomicon, that was never seen on the final edit.
Fun video for people interested, especially the story of how it was a production hand basically writing his thoughts into the book in-between takes, and how he didn't go to film school to do this (edit: and hairy 80s beavers!) !
Never thought we'd be able to have such an insight into the prop, nevermind have it read aloud and seeing most of the pages!
The cover of the journal looks like an old stylish bible cover, so still trying to track it down before I dive into the project in full.
