Carl9149's "MAN OF STEEL" COSTUME

Carl, if you haven't seen the photos we took at Comic Con already, take a look at the full size copies in our gallery (linked below). I think your new pattern is much closer, but I think you still have a little way to go.

while there is a little distortion due to the curvature of the arm underneath the cloth, here is a crop of the pattern up close.

Thanks Art Andrews, these are very detailed and very helpful. Need to go back into the pattern. Also looks like there is a lined pattern beneath the main one. :)
Thanks everyone for the help with this.

Started to update the pattern now, think I'm starting to get a little closer to the overall look, but still need to do better :)

Looks fantastic! I have noticed that the little "star-jumping stick figure man" (I don't know how else to describe them) are only joined to the curvy X shapes at the "feet" on the actual pattern, if that makes sense!

I agree and yours looks a little taller and skinnier.

Carl, not sure if this helps any but here is a quick pattern based on the arm material I uploaded in post #22. Based on the pattern you have in post #24, it looks like this needs to be compressed, vertically, but overall, I think it isn't too far off. If it helps at all, you are more than welcome to use it.

Art Andrews - thanks just saw what you did in the pattern, thanks for the assistance man:) What lovely people you all are!

Yet to add any effects to mine this was just a quick re-work of my previous attempt:)
Were getting closer:)

I thinķ by just adding a slight tone on tone fine grid pattern underneath this pattern of yours would be ready to dye sub and then get ur game plan to create the 3d looking overlay wether you use silicone or latex. GREAT work for sure man!!

Very cool. How do you define it as a pattern so that it tiles properly? Doesn't it have to be square?

Carl the patterns looking great bro. I'm a total noob when it comes to costuming, I'm trying to fathom how you plan on applying the pattern to your material. I want to make a MoS costume of my own and have no idea how to do the texturing.

I think what you can do is what Carl is doin with his Spidey suit and I will be using the same method on my Cpt Britain which is to go over the pattern u want textured with puff paint, it looks great on the spidey outfits so I am that is the route I'm gonna go :)

Yeah puff paint is the way to go with the MOS pattern, its gonna definitely make it stand out a lot better.

OK had a small amount of time to do some re-work on this design, here you go:

No pattern added into the emblem just yet, got some other things to get finished before I crack this part of the design.
