I was wondering how to get a Kyber crystal container a la Rogue One, and I can't find anything cheaper than $150! Can someone give me a walkthrough on how to make one with stuff around the house?

Hey! You mean those orange crates shown during the Scariff scenes?

If so, I think your first move would be to scale it down. That would most likely reduce the cost to your liking (trust me, I know all about reducing costs).

PVC pipe, couplers, sheet plastic or acrylic, metal tubing.
Not sure what you would use for the bands that look like giant zip ties.

ive been debating this for awhile. i can probably make something CLOSE out of pvc pipe and styrene. but my biggest concern and hurdle was getting a crystal that large. i dont even know where to begin on making a crystal like that :cry

You could either sculpt one and cast it in clear resin or you could get a quartz crystal off eBay. They're pretty cheap. Probably use an engraving tip on a dremel for the side details.

That's my hangup whenever I look at the picture. I'm thinking a crystal that large is going to cost a good amount of money. I never looked to see if any replica versions are available. The container wouldn't be that hard IMO.

Well mine is certainly not a screen accurate replica, but it was definitely a fun little piece to make:

If your on a budget, you can try building one like this yourself. I just used a LED pop up lantern as a base. You can get them on amazon or ebay at a very reasonable price.
