Captain Nemo's Under Water Rifle - aKa: UWR

Excelent news.
Any chance of a few more photos, build up photos are interesting.
Im especially interested in your construction methodology, for example, did you cast your own triggers from resin, and is the hammered copper real or plastruct copper film ?

Every piece of my UWR was hand made. The Trigger was sculpted to mimic Harper Goff's Nautilus designs. The hero UWR triggers in 20K had too simple a look for my tastes. The Hammered Copper is black ABS, a plastic pipe used for plumbing (this side of the Pond). I placed a plug (jig) inside the pipe to keep it from collapsing & hammered away with a (not sure what you call it in the UK) 'ballpeen' hammer. It has round end for working metal. Depending on how it's done, the hammer's Dents of the ABS can achieve the desired look of most hammered-metal textures.

Now that is a thing of beauty! Excellent work on these. Did you start an interest thread for these in the JY?

The link to the JY thread just brings you back here :confused
I nipped over to the Junk Yard to find the post and put the correct link here, but couldnt find anything in the JY.

Hi guys, My own UWR build has come to a standstill , Ive been just too busy , my mum needed a new bathroom building and my own house needs a room remoddeling ... hopefully all my household commitments will come to an end when the good weather staerts here in England and I can restart my UWR project and the BFG that Rose has in Dr who , two gun projects but no time to play ...:angry

I'm too recent a member here to reply at the JY forum, but wanted to add that I had purchased Modeleers UWR and vertical wall mount a while ago and it is truely a thing of beauty. It just feels right in the hand, aside from being beautifully built and painted. It's hard to say "better than the real thing" because having the actual film prop would be the ultimate, but all I can say is - the Disney prop masters back in '54 would have loved to have this UWR mounted on their dive room wall aboard the Nautilus during filming.
I'm late to this thread - just wanted to add this.

Now THAT's a compliment! THANK YOU!!!

From your keyboard - to the powers that be over at Disney Studios:

Perhaps they will read this & see things as clearly as you saw fit to express -
I would give my All - to make my UWRs (& the Nautilus) for the New 20K film.
