Captain America!

I have to say that Captain America was pretty damn good.Tommy Lee Jones is an invaluable actor in the world of film...I don't think there is much this man can't do,and some characters are just made perfect for him.Joe Johnston is for sure making his bones and earning his salt as a director. Each film he steps it up....no complaints for the peanut gallery. Its definately worth seeing on the big screen(can't speak for 3d,I'm not a fan of it).

i am glad i am reading alot of positive reviews. i am going to see it sunday!! i look forward to seeing cap on the big screen like he should be.

thanks for the reviews ,guys.

i saw it in 3D and it wasn't on the level of dark of the moon but it was ok, not worth 13 a ticket for the few 3D effect shots,it was also converted after the fact from what i've read. As far as the movie in general, it was amazing. I totally see the winter soldier nod. He was on the operating table and cap leaves him for dead. I'd say thats motive enough for a sequel or possible avengers villain. also i read that the actor of the spidey reboot was asked in a interview if he will have a cameo in the avengers and his reply was no comment..hmmmm,a little thin id say.

IT WAS AMAZING!

I missed the Human Torch nod, but I had a laugh at the Indiana Jones joke at the beginning.

Defiantly ranks up there as one of the best comic book movies. It was just set up so much like one of Cap's comic stories.

I wondered what they'd do about Bucky, not sure if there'll be a Winter Soldier movie but that was very well done.

What came at the end just was so amazing I can't wait for next summer.

I saw it last night, BEST SUPERHERO MOVIE EVER! Chris Evans did an amazing job, and I really liked him as the scrawny Steve Rogers.. I don't have a single grip for this movie it was that well done. I plan on going to see this at least 3 more times in the theater. I can't wait for the Avengers.

What was the Indy joke in the beginning? I had screaming babies in my row and I got distracted

The Indy joke: Hitler is wasting his time digging in the sand for trinkets

Did any body catch the Zola reference ?

I posted it before, his face was on a small green monitor in the very beginning then they panned to him looking thru a scope

Great to read all the positive reviews!! :) I always thought Chris Evans would do a great job as Cap.
I really can't wait to see it when its released here in the UK next week

Ok guys!
let me know before i see it

is there a scene after the credits?

This one is worth sticking around after the credits for.

It was definitely one of the best superhero movies made though I wouldn't say it is THE best just speaking for myself. Now if Captain America had a fin on his head and a rocketpack on his back that might change my mind... :p ;)

I literally had a smile on my face for most of the movie

THIS! That's exactly how I felt throughout the entire film. Sure, the film felt "safe" and followed the typical summer blockbuster format, but it really was executed so well. I'm so happy that Evans portrayed Rogers as humble, earnest, and basically, a bit of a geek... and kept him that way after the transformation. I can see Rogers and Stark clashing due to their personalities and mindsets in the Avengers movie :thumbsup

Weaving was ridiculous as the Red Skull, and I mean that in a positive way. He's fast becoming one of my favorite actors.

I know that some people will complain about the ending (mainly, non-comic book fans), but I thought it was pitch perfect. It really made you feel bad for Steve and REALLY makes you want to watch the Avengers film. :thumbsup

Just got back....DC needs to learn from Marvel...

I liked the nods to the fans. Does this mean there is an opening for the Vision in "Avengers 2"? It would have been interesting if that was Nick Fury in the Howling Commandos.

From what I'm reading the 3D isn't worth the extra money?

Not at all. You really only got some 3D bang during the explosions. In fact, the 3D made the cut and paste of Evans' head look worse than it probably did in 2D (IMO, there were shots where it looked like it stuck out way too much.).

Definitely not IMHO but I'm biased anyway. Not to mention it wasn't shot in 3D but converted after the fact. The movie plays great in 2D unless you really want to see those one or two scenes where Cap throws his shield at the camera.

Amen to that. I think a large part of the problem is just that Marvel Studios has been given quite a lot of autonomy whereas the DC group still has all of it's execs backseat driving. Until they get a group that can work more autonomously, they'll continue to churn out crap that has had too many chefs in the kitchen. That's really a shame because DC has so many great characters like the Flash and Wonder Woman that would be great material for a movie if they could ever get their act together.

Red Skull talking about Hitler digging for Artifacts in the Desert or something to that effect.

I believe Spiderman,Iron Man,Thor.Cap. America and the Hulk are all going to be in "The Avengers" amongst others. You can see some of it in the teaser at the end of Cap.America.The only thing that worries me is who they are replacing "The Hulk" and Spiderman with. I kinda liked Ed Norton as the new David Banner.I hate it when studios change actors(as if no one is suppose to notice) and it just throws things off.It could be a mistake/disaster rewcasting parts...or it could be a great idea? The secnd Incrdible Hulk film was much, much better than the first I.M.O.Tough to say.Needless to say,Cap. America is well worth watching.Personally,I HATE 3d. It wreaks havvoc on my eyes and gives me a headache that rivals hang overs and to me...really distracts from a good film(or makes a bad one even S*&^$!ttier). That's just me...I could be wrong.

Spider-Man can't be in the Avengers because Columbia Pictures holds the rights to Spider-Man for the moment
