Awesome!
I literally had a smile on my face for most of the movie and I could feel a genuine positive vibe from the audience throughout as well.
Kudos to the Director for delivering a fun and touching experience. Also a nod to the Director of Photography for such beautiful imagery.
Sets and costumes were of the best this genre has to offer and Silvestri's score was a great companion to the film.
Loved Evans as Cap - contrary to my initial thoughts, there was no "this guy was the Human Torch" line of thinking while watching him.
I'm happy that a good amount of time was taken to establish the character and develop his origin - similar to the first Iron Man - this made the emotional attachment to the hero all that much better.
The 3D was pretty decent, though like most 3D movies we are seeing, it's not really a necessity to spend the money on it as you would get the same thrill from the movie as watching the 2D version.
Looking forward to the Avengers, after seeing the teaser my first reaction was "This is either going to blow everyone out of the water....or just blow - period."
Two thumbs way up and I hope the movie is a huge hit so that the Director can get his shot at a Rocketeer sequel!!

Good to hear!!!!! Always thought that Johnston was a perfect director for a WW2 Cap movie just based on The Rocketeer alone.

I personally loved it. Only about two scenes where I enjoyed the 3d, otherwise I thought it was a distraction. Otherwise, it was an awesome film and I plan on having a Marvel marathon when this one comes out on DVD.

I loved the film, they did a great job.

I will say Chris Evans gave a bit of a wooden performance - at times it seemed like he was saying things just to make it a sound byte. Compared to Downey Jr. and Helmsworth he showed the least amount of charisma or charm. ...but, Tony Stark and Thor were just incredible performances. Evans is very capable and has shown to be a very capable actor, just didn't quite get it those levels.

They killed Bucky!?! I didn't expect that... since all we did is see him fall - are they leaving it open to bring him back as well?

Bucky will be the winter soldier there was nods to this in the film as well.

DID ANYBODY CATCH THE ORIGINAL HUMAN TORCH CAMEO?

Nods to it, yes. Doesn't necessarily mean they're going to do it. Frankly, I hope not.

I missed the Torch!?!?

Yep saw the Torch, Phinneas Horton's name was above the display.

How about Zola's face on the small green monitor? Homage to his comic book look.

Just a sidenote, SYFY had the '92 Cap movie on last nite. I set my dvr to record it, haven't seen since I rented back in early 90's. Watched it today....now I remember why I haven't seen it since then lol

It did have some stars in it though: Roony Cox, Darrin McGavin, and Ned Beatty

I went to see it this afternoon and loved it. I thought Chris Evans was awesome and I can't wait to see the Avengers. It was definitely the best CBM of the year though Thor is a close contender.

I enjoyed X-Men... And while not great, Green Lantern wasn't completely horrible IMHO (though the Green Hornet was horrible and then some.)

All-in-all I'd say it's been a good year for comic book movies just because of Captain America and Thor. Can't wait to get them on bluray.

I am going to say that Captain America is the greatest of all comic book based movies of all time! Chris captured the true essence of Steve Rogers perfectly! I cried during this movie out of sheer joy! More than one time and I do mean tears rolling down my cheeks crying. Greatest movie ever.

Ladies and gentlemen, I give you Chris Evans' Mom. ;)

All kidding aside, I really enjoyed this movie. Just behind the first Iron Man for favorite Marvel film.

I can't believe I'm finally reading a movie thread that got 12 posts in without someone bashing it!

Can't wait to go see this on Sunday!

I just got back from the theater and all I have to say is win, win, win. I loved it.

Now, I just need to buy or make an accurate replica of the shield. Too freakin' awesome.

I thoroughly enjoyed it.
I saw the original Human Torch and geeked out. I told my friends when he was shown but they didn't recognize him.
All in all, a fun movie and I didn't mind the changes.
Plus, Dum Dum Dugan was great.
