Captain America Shield UK edition(satellite dish) fibreglass back

Hiya guys. Fist time post on the forums so hopefully this thread will be of use and will help others!
There are many many captain America Shields on the rpf, and I think everyone I have seen has been amazing, and so I give 100% credit to my fellow sheild makers before me!
This is my first "real" prop project, other than a few plastic/cardboard type masks(ant man/batman etc)

After deciding that the shield was the way to go,I proceeded to search these forums for various builds to help me with my own.
Unfortunately here in the UK, some supplies can be rather impossible to aquire(duplicolor paint/round sled),so I though it would be of use to post how I went about creating my shield.

Unfortunately I didn't take any pictures of the process (which I will definitely be doing should I make another) but here are some pictures of where I'm at so far.
I shall be posting a more detailed process of how I got to the this point tomorrow, and also things I have learned along the way.
This shield is in essence an old satellite dish (23.5 inches) and fibreglass backed my myself, to make it more stable and still keep it light. Have yet to do the straps.
Thanks guys, hopefully I did the Cap justice! Will be back shortly with the guide

Thank you very muc!. I hope to do some others using the same kind of technique, and learn from this build. I was kinda worried that it wouldn't look quite right, but thankfully, the days of it being a dish are long gone, and it turned out ok!

how do you plan on attaching the handles/brackets?

That one I'm still having a think about,as it would be slightly annoying to get the last bit wrong!
Ive seen some other builds, and I think the way to do it is to make the brackets and attach the handles, then jb weld(or similar metal bonding product) the whole thing to the back. But I could be way off! When I do it( this week hopefully) I shall post
the process!
