Captain America quick shield strapping?

Hello all, I know I'm not the only one who has decided to wait until the last possible moment to embark on the journey that is creating a Halloween costume. This year, I'm working on a TFA inspired Cap build and I have come to a slight obstacle. I need to finish up my steel flyer shield very quickly and I have yet to apply any strapping system. I've seen what others have done, Valor's amazing build chiefly in my mind, but I do not believe I have enough time or excess cash to spend on these methods. Does anyone have an idea for a quick and dirty strapping system that would not totally mar my shield in the event that I wish to update it at a later point?

Hot glue two loops of leather to the back? Arm goes through one loop, and you grip the other in your fist?

I used a cheap and nasty, and far from canon, method for my shield. A cheap doorhandle from a hardware store and some webbing with a click buckle superglued to the back of my shield lol. Unfortunately this probably won't help you much as you don't want to permanently bond them to your shield in the event you want to remove them.

oh well if you have a nonporous surface on the back and want to remove them at one point, use the hooks from 3m
Put 4 of them on there, loop them 2 by 2 with string or whatever and tie them off, done.

Concur with the 3M recommendation.

3M auto body tape is what holds the mounting ring to the inside of my shield.

Thanks guys, now I have a decent plan of action! On a side note, anyone who did the flyer sled shield, how did you guys remove the red factory paint? I tried acetone but that just seemed to take off the clear coat and not much of the red :/

well if paint stripper didn't work, try some sandpaper, make sure to use it in grades to keep the shine.

Klean Strip "Aircraft" Paint Remover, but is it not to be used on aircraft. :lol

Bought 2 can at the local Auto Zone. Same place to get the 3m body tape.

When you get the time, the easiest mounting ring for the strap system is a second saucer. Just make the inner ring slightly smaller than the outer edge of your shield.
I tried to make the diameter the same size without a key to guide them together and they didn't quite line up perfectly.

All the hardware and leather mounts to the inner ring and then tape the inner ring to your already finished shield.
