Can you say GROOT?

Well, this was sort of a last minute costume idea. After being inspired by Calens AMAZING build, i thought to myself, "Hey, why not make a Groot for halloween". Between school full-time, work part time, and needy girlfriend part time, this is going to be quite the difficult task. Please excuse the super messy room 8). Any ways, heres what I have so far. Each picture shows a little more progression or slight detail added

One more thing. Once this is all put together, it appears that i will have no neck. Having no neck will make this costume look super silly. So ive been experimenting with the mouth area by making it a large slit so ill be able to see through it instead of using the actual eyes. Doing so will allow the mask to be further up on my head and will show that I have a neck. Hopefully it all works out. Any advice, comments, questions or constructive criticism is greatly appreciated!

Made a "dummy" of myself and set up some roots on Groot. Dremeled out a larger opening on the mouth so i can see out of it. I now have a neck!! Just need to add some trapezius muscles to make it more uniform and square. Gonna have to slow down the building of groot and focus on a few tests coming up

Gluing on the foam is taking foreverrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr! Just starting working on it again as Ive finished taking about 3 tests. Hopefully the rest of the body is easier and goes quickly. Also, I unfortunately have to make the head bigger to fit the foam pieces underneath it. Thats gonna be a huge pain. Not sure how i will add texture yet; most people seem to be using tissue paper. Ill either do that or use dimensional fabric paint to draw out the lines of texture but only after i paint the whole thing with maybe a coat of primer to help fill in the little divots and holes in the foam.
