Just got a pull taken from the mould I bought (original post is at the link below)

Its obviously not what I thought it was unless its been a prototype or something.......so I'm assuming the story the guy gave is rubbish and its off a different film, anyone seen it before or got any suggestions as to what it is???????

Posted to Pulse to see if someone can help shed some light on your purchase.

Looks like kinda a cross between the two... Back seems slightly too straight to be the Licker, although I'm on a work PC and can't use Google Fu as well as normal for pics.
Might be a fan-made sculpt?

Not meaning to poke my nose in where it doesn't belong but it kinda looks like the mirror daemon from Constantine. Although I think most of those were CG.

It's definitely got a Resident Evil feel to it, but something else about it feels familiar... I'm gonna have to investigate this one.

Thanks for the input guys, jmaerker that would be awesome if you don't mind investigating it......I've uploaded a front on pic (below). I'll get better pictures on Sunday when I pick it up from the studio, these pics are just the initial ones the prop maker sent me.

All help in identifying it is greatly appreciated :)

It does look like a prototype/concept of the Chatterer.......did studios do a few different variations on masks and then decide which to use? On the very last pic in the post above, the missing "eye" has a knot type shape to it just like the screen used chatterer, this also has the same type of mouth setup.....its almost like this was the basic design for him and it was then refined down to the final mask. Aside from the mouth needing to be smaller, the nose area smoothed over and the other eye removed, its pretty close!

At the four corners of the mouth there are indents where "hooks" could go in to pull the skin back, same on the back shoulder sections, where the skin has been peeled back to expose the muscle underneath, again with indents for hooks to go in?

I would have thought if it were fan made by someone with this quality of sculpting skills, then they would have made it accurate and not added an eye, nose and made the mouth so much bigger.......also, the guy I got it off did genuinely appear to have it in his loft for all those years (it was well buried in there, took ages to find it) and really didn't have a clue what it was, so I think it is probably from the late 80's like he claimed.

I'm new to all this, only just started collecting, so I don't really know how studios go about designing the masks that they use....but if they did make a few different versions of each type, then maybe this is one version of the Chatterer that was rejected, hence it ended up in the skip behind the studios, like the guy I bought it off claimed it came from?

Hey guys I'm new here but thought I'd chime in. I know for a fact that in Hellraiser 2 they used 2 different mask. I'm not sure about the one you have. I know a guy who is a huge hellraiser prop collector. I haven't talked to him in a long while but if I can get ahold of him he might know something about it

Got it back from the propmaker, its an awesome mask, way better than the pics she sent of it. The vampires out of Priest are a bit similar, but the mould is definitely older than when that movie was made, some of the original foam latex that was left on the outside had gone crusty, so its an old mould, which fits with the story I got when I bought it. Monsterdork, that would be awesome mate, if you could see what your guy thinks, that'll settle if its a Hellraiser item or if its definitely from something else.....its the peeled back skin with hook attaching points, that's making me think Hellraiser (aside from the mouth looking like Chatterer).

Here's a few better images, I've messed about with the brightness/contrast to make the features come out a bit better than the plain shots....
