Camberwick Green and Trumpton

would you mind taking a quick measurement of how long the portion used on the trumpton fire engine is?
for research purposes ;)
From the very rear of the Marx fire engine to the back of the cab, near the fire extinguisher, is 195mm and 111mm wide. The overall length of the truck including bumper is 305mm... for research purposes of course.

On the subject of dimensions, does anyone have the external width of the front forks on Jonathan Bells fork lift as I'm making up pallets and milk churns for use with his truck and I think it'll be years before I'm lucky enough to obtain the correct Tudor Rose fork lift of my own to get the dimension.

thank you, turns out i was only 5mm off from my estimate!
not exactly what you’re looking for, but i’ve made 3D models of the crates that originally came with the forklift toy if you’ve got a 3D printer and you’d like them

Gosh you did well with your estimate.
Thank you KevinD. I'm annoyed with myself now as I had estimated them at around 72mm so my 'egg' boxes, pallets and milk churns are probably a little on the large side. Hey ho.

Yes please, that would be great thank you. A 3D printer is my next early birthday present to myself. So many makes to choose from.

not much activity around here recently-
but i’ve come across something very very interesting
apparently in may of 1966, a puppetry exhibition was held in hastings that showcased, among other things, some of the original puppets of camberwick green! (and stingray!)

i’ve not been able to find out much else about it, and i’m not sure if there’s anything else in the booklet relating to it, but the listing can be found quite easily if anyone wants to go for it.

Oooh, that was a good bit of detective work.

While I'm about it, you can see the
now THAT is absolutely brilliant!!
(I've also made a model of the army truck and the helicopter if you'd like them)
Thank you. Gosh you really have been busy. I would definitely be interested in your helicoptor and army truck designs. I bought a 'Helicoptor with Active Pilot' a couple of months back and have been debating how best to create the cab ever since. The Army truck, again would be great as I've not even looked at that yet.

I bought Roger Varley's, 'Coral Toys police motorcyle' for which I've created a 3D printable sidecar wheel based on the design of the existing bike wheels. I'm hoping eventually to print the sidecar body too.

While I'm about it, here is my Farmer Bell truck with milk churns etc.

oo lovely! since you've got the helicopter already I'll just send you the cabin piece (eventually, still need to export it)
I've also made the post office but I reckon it's probably too big to print-

I agree an entire 3D printed building is probably a bit too much. But I've cut out some ply Trumpton house fronts with 3D printed doors, letterboxes, door knobs, window frames etc to attach to them. Once painted I'm hoping to re-create the street scene for the fire engine.

I have contemplated creating 3D printable designs for the figures, but I think that's rather beyond my capability at this stage.

here you go dave, files for both the helicopter cabin and the army truck!
the description of the army truck includes some rudimentary instructions for completing the model,
and here’s some pictures of it to save the trouble of looking up references for all the little symbols and so on

(on the back of the prop it says ‘PIPIN FORT’ instead of ‘PIPPIN FORT’. I changed it on the model because I don’t like it-)

Thank you ArtBoy54 for access to your 3D files, I can see you have put an awful lot of effort into creating them. 'Pipin' typo well spotted, you've certainly done your research!

I have now successfully printed out one of the Thomas Tripp crates. I'm still getting the hang of adding supports, so the first print ended up as a learning curve in spaghetti production. :) To that end, I'm thinking the helicopter cab is probably best printed when orientated on its back with tree supports to the inside front edges. I'm pleased it looks like it'll just fit on the Bambu A1 build plate.

I have been keeping an eye out for the large 'foremans truck'/'dustcart' etc. This was labelled as a Rosedale Product (on the box at least). Up until last week, there was an immaculate '30 ton tipper' version on a certain popular auction site with plenty of crisp photos to accompany the listing. Apart from the tipper section, this was pretty much identical to the large lorry variants used in the programmes. Sadly, despite this costing £2.65 in the 1974 Argos catalogue, the auction site seller was asking a shade under £400. It's since vanished from the site now so perhaps someone had deeper pockets than me. My search continues...

The seller has withdrawn the listing however if you Google: 'vintage rosedale tipper truck lorry large 25 inches' you can still see the main image used. However, for research purposes, I have kept a complete copy of the photos that were posted in case they might prove to be useful. I don't really want to post them here as there are around a dozen of them. Is there a way I can get them to you?

you could send them to me on discord if you have that, (my username is the same as on here, just all in lowercase)
or you could send them here, but just scale them down very very small like this

(a high quality version of the image should still be retained if you click on it)
