I'm getting ready to cast that plate and was wondering if you had any advice or things to watch out for. I've never made a mold of a piece with so many undercut parts before. Should I brush on the silicone?

Hi John,
I can't advise you here on this plate or any castings I'm afraid, as I had all my needed casts done for me by an excellent casting buddy.

Hi Stu,

I've followed this thread and your Youtube channel for a long time now...simply amazing work! I'm trying to work out the size of the armor plating nibbled 'cutouts' in your 5" I've tried some simple photogrammetry, and they appear to be about 11mm wide by about 3mm 'deep'. Do you know off the top of your head if this sounds about right? I'm trying to identify an appropriate nibbler tool to buy for my Falcon project.

Hi Grant.

You need s simple 'nibbler' tool, as per the attached pic.
The notches are 1/4", so a 6.35mm cut/nibble, around 2mm deep.
