Building my own Macrobinoculars

Whoa, you might be right about 2 sets for the Kalimar knobs for the hero. I appologize, I don't have another set so I was going to use the Seagul knobs for the side with the dial. I should be able to use the same hole patterns I hope. This thing is tricker than I thought. Thanks Marv for the link I will take a look at this.

Good Grief! first of all i really want to express how awesome i like the binoculars, nice work! but i have to say something about it which prop builders (even like me) don't like at all. The base of this binocular is indeed a Eumig camera, it so happens that i collect eumig and it stabs me in the heart to see them destroyed for a movie prop. Even when george lucas was first i know :(. what i think is important for you to know is that the eumig servomatic is a better base because a unilectric is way more difficult to find, if someone has an intact unilectric i'm interested to buy it an get it in my collection in Holland. you can better use the servomatic. it's technical the same but less special. also, not my area of collecting but using minox parts is very bad indeed, many collector pay good money to have those accesories in original condition! it would be better to find alternatives that aren't worth such a lot of money.

i know, it sound like wining, but i'm prop builder and camera collector in one, so this prop is both awesome and greusome at the same time.

This is a wonderful reference as I begin my build. Picked up the Eumig, Kalimar and Bell & Howell for less that $160 shipped. All I need now are the two lenses, Seagull and custom metal pieces. Can't wait to get my hands dirty!
