Building a Batcave/AvP temple few questions.

After having a brush with the big 'C' last year I decided lifes too short so i've begun building my Batcave/ AvP temple home cinema. (Havent decided which yet)

Im now at the stage of building the fake rockfaces using modroc, my question is if I put plaster of paris over the modroc will it fireproof to a certain extent. Ive looked at papermache but it'll take forever with the size of room and its a fire risk.

Anyone got any easier suggestions for fake rock it would really be appreciated. Modroc and chicken wire is a seriously slow process. Cant find foam in the right size in the UK. Hot used to building anything of this scale and can't have anything to heavy as im still recovering.

Pics will follow after I paint out the walls.

Plaster but it will be pretty heavy but you could try building the rough shapes from some other material then mix plaster and then slap it on.pkus you can paint it with household paint

just an idea.
:)

For a uk supplier of polystyrene in sheets try Flints Theatrical Chandlers, i get a lot from them and they are very reasonable. there are a few more companies about depending on where you live.

I wouldn't think that Modroc was inherently fire proof, you would need to add either Bristol Fax to the mix or coat with Flamebar afterwards. the better thing about Polystrene is that is can be purchased flame proof so no need to treat it with nasty chemicals.

When I was building fake Crystals on a very small scale I was using those big sheets of insulating foam board? You can buy at B&Q, You can carve it with pretty much anything, I think i used a normal carving knife, and paint it with all sorts? Some of the CElotex comes fireproof to class o
