Hi Guys My name is mike wring im co-founder of “Three Sixty History” we are a living history based company that specialises in all sorts of military history from WW1 to current day conflicts.
We teach history workshops for groups and schools as well as supplying props and uniforms for TV/films and even some technical advising. One of are main subjects that we are most known for is ‘The Battle of Mogadishu” otherwise known as “Black Hawk Down”. We are in touch with many of the veterans and work with the US army in order to ensure we are as accurate as possible.
We are currently working on our display for the 2014 war and peace revival show in July and thought the progress may be of interest on here. The main part of our display will be a full-scale replica of the super 6-1 crash site as seen in the film. We are working with “Funky monkey props” who is currently building the helicopter for us! Those familiar with “Funky Monkey Props” work will know how good they are!
The display will consist of 2 buildings made by us, with the helo placed in the alleyway between them as per the actual crash site (unlike the open are it crashed into in the film).
We aim to fill in the gaps left by the film and ensure we include all the units that were left out so our members portray:
· 75th Rangers
· Delta Force
· USAF PJ’s and Combat Controllers
· Seal Team 6 Members
· 10th Mountain division
The first part of the build is the nose cone that has been carved from wood and foam to get the initial shape. This will the be sanded down and coated ready for the fibreglass to be applied.
