Buffy chalice prop/set dressing - is it authentic?

That's awesome, I too like all the seasons.. I never understood why some people are down on season 6 & 7.

This is a great thread - it's motivated me to watch Buffy (my father and sister love it but I never saw the appeal)!

Regarding the chalice, I would heed Rick's points. His knowledge and diligent research continues to amaze even seasoned collectors. I've seen masses of similar thrift store items sold and attributed to shows like Buffy / Harry Potter / any 60's show you care to name. There is no proof the chalice was used in the show, just the word of a man / company that's been proven to sell a lot of similar items under fraudulent guises. In 11 years of seriously collecting I've never seen an authentic prop labelled in the way you describe.

If you're new to the hobby you can't go far wrong if you start with Jason's OPB, the Propstore and Screenused. There's also a wealth of information on the Movie Prop Forum (PM me if you'd like to know how to join). I'd read Jason's earlier blog posts, especially those that describe the 'I want to believe' syndrome.

Hope this helps.

Best ,

David
