I want to learn or find someone who knows how to make molds in rubber. the pattern was taken from the light diffuser that covers lights

Yeah apparently so. A couple of points to consider -

1. No one gets that close as to see details that fine.
2. Even if they do, chances are, they won't know the details anyway - ie no one noticed my non corrected toes on my MAGs or the fact that the NIKE logo doesn't even light. Most didn't even recognize the shoe, they just knew the Hover Board.

This stuff is so close, I don't see the point in the extra expense of learning to make a sheet of the stuff when this 95% as found item. I've even found a way to get the black into the groves whilst keeping the red nice and bright.

So yesterday I went to see that guy about the CNC and he was busy packing up shop. Apparently he has decided to move back to the land of the long white cloud as business here has been slow for him. Shame. I do have other leads to follow up.

Damn thats not good news. I was looking today on aliexpress but nothing really came up :( there is a sign shop that is close by that does routing of letters and such, might enquire if they can do the hoverboard. I wanted to get it done in abs plastic to keep weight down but mdf is also good, Ill keep you updated if you want

The problem with CNC machining is the set up time. Most of the guys don't want to do a one off jobs because of the time it takes to set up the machine. If you tell them you want 10, no issues. I will also get quotes for laser cutting tomorrow so I can start on this:

With any luck they are bttf fans and will want one for themselves haha.

Ooh that mr fusion looks good. I looked for the krupps coffee grinder on ebay but everyone knows that its mr fusion so they jacked the price up.

The plans for this is to make solid bucks for vac forming and then I can pull as many as is needed or wanted. I am thinking this is going to make a great hard drive case. Don't think I will do the black body part under the main lid. As you can see, there is a pair of ribs missing for the hinge.

Hey everyone, don't know how I didn't find this thread earlier!
I'm Rowan, currently living and studying in Sydney and I keep hearing about the fun you lot up in QLD have. Hopefully I'll make it up there for a con soon.
As far as what I make goes it's a bit of everything. I have access to a damn fine workshop at uni (where I am actually doing a BA in props).

Currently working on some Skyrim and Uncharted gear, and next year i'll be doing a full sized Iron Throne. You can find my page in my signature.

Yeah I liked the FB page as well. How different is that Phurba Dagger to the one used in the 1994 film THE SHADOW?

No worries. You should build a he man sword or the atlantean sword from conan (the original) id be interested

I'm working on the steel sword from Skyrim at the moment, if that goes well I might consider one of those.

It is not a bad film and the knife itself is about 12~14 inches. UC did actually release a replica in the late 1990's for about $150~200. The blades were dull though and I guess were made of alloy. The handle had two faces - one asleep and one angry where the one in the film is CG and comes "alive".

Hey guys, I'm a film student and I'm getting into practical effects and prop making. I'm interested in life casting, latex suit construction, resin casting, miniatures and just about everything else new I read on this site.

Where do you guys get your supplies? I want to get some alginate or some silicone cream like Body Double but I'm not sure where to get the best value for my money.

I have a chroma green wall in my garage studio, I'm in the process of building a vacuform machine and heater at the moment. I'm also interested in costuming, I got a sewing machine for Christmas that I'm learning how to use.

Welcome!

I'm up north a bit near gympie. I'm a bro who can sew. If you need some advise, or thoughts swing them my way, i might be able to offer some advise.

This is the arming doublet of Theon Greyjoy from game of thrones. It was my first project from pattern making to finish that I've done.
