I've been with them for about 3 years now. I'm hoping to get my HIc to a big troop in the near future just to show it off. There are a few of us sand troopers now. But mine has a unique style of weathering. Cav, ill chat to ya at supanova for sure.

On this forum to work out what costume (not SW) I wanna do next. Wanna do a foam/abs build but need to get my scout trooper approved first.

Working on the wife's webbing for her TK right now. This light industrial sewing machine I bought her is giving us grief. Could just be a simple setting or maybe it really doesn't like the #40 nylon bonded thread we are using.

Hey quick update...The Wife's TK got approved.

She is now TK-41138 and will be at Supernova from tomorrow I will be there as well though not sure if in costume.

I got the RAMBO IV blade for just $55 on Friday. Whilst it is not screen accurate, for the price I paid, I am sure I can take the black off the blade.

I am currently in Brisbane as a Backpacker and went to Supanova. It was great!

Apparently over 30,000 people went through the gates over the weekend.

Twas a bit hot in costume though. The air con units in the sellers marquee were refreshing.

I seen a 'toothless' costume there from 'how to train your dragon' and I have to say, it was the highlight of my weekend (other than 501st related stuff of course).

Yes it was hot, so well done to all that wore any costume covering your head. Next year the event moves to the exhibition centre at Southbank which will have some pros like AC and easy parking. Will probably cost more though because that SB mob charged a 6m x 4m stand (floor space) at about $12K. Makes it tricky for a non profit group like the 501st.

Hey cavx awesome marty costume im planning on doing that for the coast nova in april.
I saw a page back that elro wanted pricing on cnc machining for a project, could you let me know pricing also, as im trying to make a hoverboard and need a cnc machinist.

btw everyone else did an awesome job on costumes this year im bummed I missed out.

Which Marty? I should have my jacket with the extending sleeves completed by then. I also want my Pred done for then as well.

No I building the jacket myself. I have found a pretty close material to the pyramid material used on the main vest. I'll probably do the sleeves from a grey leatherette I found at Spotlight.

No not yet. I need to sort the pattern for the main body first. I have worked how to make the sleeves and I have a light industrial machine that will sew it all with no issue. Looks like I got the last of this pyramid material too as I bought the last 2m off the roll and I have not seen it since. I bought that about 4 months ago. Really hope it is not all over for that product.
