Hey, I was looking into getting a boba fett costume. I'm already a TK (as you could probably tell from my picture...), but I'd like to expand into the Bounty Hunter realm :) I'd like to go for the ROTJ look, but I have no idea where to start looking or how much I should look to spend on this.

I'm not really sure what helmet is what, or what's accurate or anything. Anyone know if the MR helmet is very accurate?

I'd like lots of ref. pictures if you got um. Help me out all you can thanks

Like PS posted, the Dented Helmet is the place to start... plan to spend a min of 6 months and spend 2K... and that's the min.

Every single bit of my ROTJ costume was acquired over at the Dented Helmet. Mines not finished yet.... You'll easily spend 2000 or better for a good suit.

Hope that helps.

Yup, that suit looks great on the mannequin. I've been working on my ROTJ Fett suit for about a year now (no major rush) and I'm about $600 into it and that's just for boots, metal greeblies, rifle, belts, and gloves. Its definitely a long project.

I have spent the last 3 years just buying parts. My helmet is now being painted.

As far as helmets go., You can't beat a sgt Fang Mystery helm. Head on over to the aforementioned Dented Helmet for more info. Its dedicated to Boba Fett.

Thanks for the info... I went to THe Dented Helmet, and didnt know where to start... :lol I dont know much at all (been into stormtroopers for so long), and I'd like to gather some info.

does anyone know if any of the original armor were decals, or was the whole thing painted?

also, was the original belt leather or pleather?

Really, the TDH is the place to go
We have a search engine over there.
Any question you can think of has probably been addressed already.
Please give us a chance
Homework over there will pay off when you do your costume

Ditto to everyone else. The Dented Helmet is the way to go... Nothing over there that isn't already pieced appart, delved into, and put back together. I should know, I married a DH Boba Fett! Suddenly I'm compelled to make that into a bumper sticker. :lol

Expect to spend anywhere from $500 to over $3,000 depending on how accurate and well built you want it. Here's a list of some expected costs for an average Fett, which can be much lower or much higher depending on what you build or buy and how much work you will put in yourself. Also depends on if you want aluminum parts for things like the rocket, which will drive the cost up very quickly.

Jumpsuit - $140
Vest and neckseal- $120
Armor - $250
Gauntlets - $300
JetPack - $350
Boots and spikes - $180
Girthbelt - $50
Leather ammo belt - $150
Helmet - $250
Tools - $50
Wookie brades - $30
Decals - $25
Weapon - $250
Gloves - $85
TOTAL = $2230

Not sure if I missed anything. Hope this helps...

Yeah, I spent at least a year finding stuff to make it suitable, than the past year since then I have been upgrading stuff. So at the moment, I have invested $3500 in mine. It is a longer process, I still plan to upgrade my blaster, and gotta buy the secondary blaster. Other than that, I think I am in good shape for a while. Jumpsuit is as accurate as can be, armor, looks good enough the way I painted it, as well as the helmet, gauntlets and the jetpack the way I painted those. Boots with spikes, Wookiee Braids and cape are as close as possible. Vest is as accurate as possible, minus the weathering. I need to repaint my shin tools because the paint I used is having a wierd effect and it is getting strangly tacky. Belts are as close as possible. Only real things I would have to do, aside if for some strange reason I repainted it, would have to be, Jetpack harness system, and the neckseal. Other than that, I can't possibly do anything different. So you start at say $2000, than a few upgrades later and your at $4000 lol!

My boot spikes have fallen off a few events prior, so that is why they aren't on there, but they are safely reattached now.

that helps tremendously... thanks :thumbsup

As mentioned The Dented Helmet is the place to go. The resources over there are incredible and the people are more than willing to help. I spent a bit more than $3000 for my RoTJ Fett, I'm nearing the $5000 mark. But I had alot of professional painting done and bought the best parts I could find. When it comes to Fett you get what you pay for. If you want a good looking Fett be prepared to spend some cash. Here is mine:
