Blake's 7 Federation trooper - anyone know what this material is?

Hi all,

I'm in Blake's 7 mode recently - it was a really cheesy show but aspects of it were pretty cool.
I'm just hoping someone will know what kind of material was used on the dome of the Federation trooper helmets, whether it's perspex or acrylic what make is this?
I know the underneath is translucent green acrylic but the other stuff alludes me completely.
I suspect it was easy to get in the 70's but I bet it's long discontinued...

Any ideas?

I thought perspex and acrylic were the same thing.

Any, looks like plain old garden variety clear plastic (or whatever you want to call it) to me. The silvery pattern looks to me like something sandwiched under it. Perhaps aluminum tape, such as the stuff used for sealing air conditioning ducts.

I thought it may be something underneath but I think you can see the inner green disc thru the top sometimes.
I've got to check my screencaps...

You know, looking at it closer it looks like it could be a glass ring used for the artdeco lamps. You know, the ones you see at Target or Walmart.
Maybe not but it looks like a light difuser.
