Done / Completed Blade Runner 2049 Cold Cast Aluminium Badge and plastic ID Card

Hi, Interested in the badge and the ID. Is it possible to get the ID as just the clear vinyl sticker. I was thinking of sticking it to some EL paper to make it light up like in the movie. Cheers John.

If you are going to put it in a wallet I think you'll have problems powering el sheet due to battery and inverter size. If you are handy with electronics, the video greetings card route is probably more viable. I have played around with the LCD screen as backlight idea, it works pretty well printed onto thin adhesive white vinyl, which also has the bonus of not needed to be lit to display.

Hey guys, a quick heads up: It just occurred to me that I took for granted that everyone here would know what cold-casting is - basically it is a mix of polyurethane resin with aluminium powder, that results in a resin that can be polished to a realistic metallic finish - it is not actually metal!

I received some test print images of the plastic ID card today, I have increased the white boder slightly, otherwise looking good :)

Hi Birdie, That sounds like a plan, so could you let me know what I will owe you if I went for the badge, the ID card on thin white vinyl and an ID card on plastic. I am also in the UK for shipping. Cheers John

Just add an extra £2 to the total, thanks!

Hey Birdie. I already paid over on the FB side and asked you about the lighting setup initially. Can I do the same as Johnnyfl and send you a additional £2 for the thin white vinyl? If that's what you suggest for lighting, happy to go with it.

No problem.

HI Birdie,
can I get in on this action and get a thin white vinyl card too by bunging you an extra £2.00 ?

*UPDATE*

Due to a problem with the badge moulds, completion of the badges has been delayed. I have PM'ed those that have ordered with details, and for the time being I won't be taking any more orders, please bear with me :)

Hey Birdie, I haven't received a pm did you receive my order via PayPal okay?
Cheers
P.

Sorry buddy, didn't mean to leave you off the PM list!

I sent the PMs to make sure no-one who ordered missed the message, text of PM as follows:

I wanted to let you know that there has been a problem with the casting of the badges - the filigree on the scroll which the ID number is printed
on is not being captured by the casts, despite pressure casting. Unfortunately I did not spot this problem before casting 15 badges, only five of which are okay.

As a result of this, I will be recutting and replacing that part on the master, then remoulding.

This has lead to me losing a week on this project, and now I cannot guarantee that you will receive the badge before Christmas, particularly for international orders.

The ID's have been printed, and I have them in hand, they look very cool :)

If this delay with the badge casting is a problem for you, please let me know, and I will refund that part of your order.

Cheers,

Simon
