Black Widow Gun Belt, Iron Man 2

Her gun is a Smith made Walther PPK/S in stainless.....
Odd choice

id argue that the holster IS a SERPA level 2 retention holster
sure looks like one

Yep sure is a Walther PPK/S in stainless. I agree, odd choice, but Scarlet Jo is a tiny woman, so I would imagine that it had something to do with that

Holster wise, I managed to get a large pic of it. Black Hawk said that they did not make the holster and when comparing the two I would agree.

According to the art of book, the fabric is four way stretch lycra with a screened print over it (some sort of slightly raised rubber like pattern from the swatches shown)

As well, in the art of book, there's a pic of the comic styled belt (round pieces with a black widow hour glass in the center) that was decided not to be used.

hahaha. we had an TV appearance today and I was surprised Robert already did me a BW belt altthough still have to edit a bit. :D

What materials were used to make this?, I am doing a Black Widow costume for the upcoming SuperNova here in Perth and I really want my costume to be absolutly perfect :)

it's made of rubber.robert made it in one night only for our appearance the next day.

for our next appearance, we modified it a bit, dry-brushed a bit of silver on it so it would have a bit of texture. we are still planning to re-color it into steel gray. but it still works perfect.

Sounds similar to what they did for the black Spidey suit in SM3.

Well, the costume designer, Mary Zophres does say she got the idea from people that worked on other Supershero shows...

got my costume card...CONFIRMED, it looks like a rubber screen print, navy over black. Stark's race suit is similar, royal over black.

Thanks David. Anything special about the base fabric? Just a heavy spandex?

I could likely get this recreated but I doubt it would be cost effective enough to get off the ground.

Excellent work on the sourcing. I'm not sure how you would even go about ordering the special screenprinting. Is the printing rubber? Simple ink? Is it really raised, or just the thickness of the paint? What sort of place could do something like that?

I can't tell the thickness of the fabric, as it's glues to the card and I'm not ready to tear into it. it does look matte. the printing looks to be 1/64 inches thick or less and is a rubber ink

I'm so ripping mine open. :) Gonna check with my buddy who is a silk screener to see if his equipment would be capable. Otherwise you need a more industrial application which is big money and huge minimums. Or maybe we get lucky and someone like Magnoli tackles it.

All,

I think a few people following this thread like myself will surely join if we can combine funds to get the fabric re-created? Just thought it good that people with links to the right places know that there is interest.

Kind regards, DJ
