Billy's rifle/shotgun combo from Predator

Damn, I just checked back to see this three times, and all were empty of my post. I don't know how that happened but I will blame Comcast Atlanta because this is easily the worst cable/internet service I've ever had.

Anyway, here is what the first post was supposed to be. Apologies to the board for the problems.

I'm going to be putting this combo together soon, and I was wondering if anyone else has done this, and what they used to mount the Mossberg shotgun to the AR-15, or do you happen to know what they used in the film? Anyone have decent pics of it? It's the only aspect of this project I am unsure of.

Rebel,
I have seen this combo before, but it's an ithaca shotgun, and the Ar-15 is much different as well. I actually like this combo, and that style of rifle, but I am looking for a closer to screen accurate combo.

Not to mention, this is a wall hanger so I'm looking to keep it under $40 if I can. :)

It can be done, but not for under $40. At least nothing that will look any good.

I believe the gun in the movie is a M16 A2 with a Remington 870 shotgun. This is how I would do it. The only reason I haven't is it is impractical as a skirmish weapon. I don't know how sturdy the shotgun would be. I have everything to do it except the Masterkey body. I'll consider putting this together.

- Marui M16 A2 ($222.00)
- Guarder Foregrip Integrated Rail for M16 ($22.00)
- Maruzen CA870 spring shotgun ($90.00)
- G&P Medium length barrel set ($66.00)
- G&P 22- round short magazine ($9.00)
- G&P CA870 Masterkey receiver ($186.00)

Ahhh cool. Thanks for posting the pic....I was looking thru the Den Trinity site last night, when you had posted this and saw the Ithaca shotgun and couldn't quite remember what Billy's gun looked like.

Good luck.

I'm gonna have to disagree on the shotgun (I'm intimately familiar with the 870). If you examine the screencap above, I'd say the shotgun that was used is almost certainly a Mossberg 88 Security (6-shot). The lug where the barrel attaches to the magazine tube, as well the the configuration of the ejection port, is inconsistant with the Remington 870.

That's not to say that there weren't multiple models of firearm used in the film, I'm just going by the posted screencap. *shrugs*

Billys gun looks like it is an M16-sp1, it has the A1 sight and no foreward assist. It sports an A2 style round handguard and a birdcage flash hider.

The shotgun is a mossberg 500, the trigger is too far forward to be a remington and the the bolt is flat sided not round like the rem.

That being said good luck trying to find an exact match in airsoft, Cheapo A1's and 870's are plentiful and will do the job in a snap.

but...Iff'n ya want a real one, well PM me..;)

*edit* N6 is right about the mossy, the mag tube lug is not the same on a 500

I have a masterkey rear lug for the M16 barrel nut somewhere, I should dig it out and drop it in silicone huh?

I already have the shotgun in a cheapo airsoft I got for $6 off ebay. It's just as pictured, very close to being a mossberg in shape and style. Billy's combo has a mossberg 500, Matt is correct (the man knows firearms better than most of us) and I stated in my post as well, no doubt about it.

I'll have to replace the barrel on it though. Once the heatshield is removed the barrel looks really tiny and has raised areas for the shield to click on to, so I already have some PVC cut to size. Just have to dremel a bit of plastic and it'll be done.

The Ar-16/M-16 rifle I purchased today for $22 shipped, BIN on ebay.

Just two springers, bound for my wall, with a glossy pic of Billy hanging above them. I will post a picture once I devise a method of mounting the shotgun to the rifle that I am happy with, after watching the film a few times more.

Thanks guys. :D

EDIT: OK, watching the film now and there is actually a scene where they are moving through the jungle and the shotgun is GONE from Billy's rifle altogether. But otherwise it's consistantly a mossberg so far. I'm guessing the gun pictured is a rubber stunt version, He tosses right after the image, and also in earlier shots the chamber on the shotgun is silver not black.

Ah, I totally missed this. :) Thanks for the recap and the eagle eyes Nexus.

Kerr, this is the shotgun I have used in my springer pulse rifle, it's really common on ebay and not expensive at all, and it works great so far. I'm building it so it can be racked and the trigger pulled. I have to chop off the clip, but that gave me a nice looking loading port that I am going to modifiy to look very much like an 870 loading port.

Yes, I am hijacking my own thread. hahaha.

Re: Billy's rifle/shotgun combo from Predator

big HELLO. new member here, " koddc ". found RPF when i searched "billy's" gun. I hope people are still following this thread. MANY years ago someone machined the brackets to put the real firearms together. I might be the only one that have a pair. might be able to be used as a prop if you can deactivate one or both firearms. this is my first post and i hope i am not wrong to even mention firearms. thank you.
