Biker Scout Helmet

Hello all,

I'm curious, with all the talent on this forum, has anyone ever attempted to do a screen accurate Biker Scout helmet or is the Altmann's still the best one out there?

Thanks for looking,

DIF

Troopermaster started an accurate sized sculpt, but other projects got in the way. Still hoping he'll finish it! :thumbsup

The MLC v3 is super cool, though DP sized. Definitely one of the best on the market, though, from what I've seen and heard! :thumbsup

I agree about MLC. I have a Biker Scout from him, and his Helmets are great. :thumbsup

I can only echo what NHM said about Troopermaster.
Kropserkel did a pretty good job on his ABS helmet kit.

I had an MLC helmet before getting a KS helmet because Mardon's was just too small for my head. The KS was slightly larger, but I'd certainly like something bigger to allow for multiple fans. How many people would be interested in a screen accurate scout helmet who doesn't already have an MLC?

I would be interested in a screen accurate helmet. I plan on getting the MLC money permiting but if there was another option more accurate I would be interested.

Kropserkel does the ABS helmet, and MLC does the fiberglass helmet. Both are good kits that are accepted as "Lancer Quality" in the 501st, which means they are the closest to accurate that the fans can get these days.

I agree with DIF, with the quality on these forums, you would think someone would have upped the ante once more in the past 5 years.

I have gone with a Kropserkel for the last five years and I have been very happy with it. I have tried on a screen used biker scout helmet and it is very tight fitting.

Thanks again for your replies guys !
I would definately be IN if anyone attempted to make one !
Any ideas? I'm sure there would be a lot of interest for this project !
Keem em' coming !

I own an MLC V3 and while it's great it has its mentioned flaws.
Afaik Sgt Fang tried to do a helmet based on a Don Post Deluxe
which - while still not 1:1 - was more true to the original shape
quite noticable looking at the larger forehead of the mask
compared to all DP classic based helmets.
Altmann got this feature corrected but was poor in maintaining
the crisp details.

So whenever there is an attempt to do one....
Be sure I'm there to help with advice and of course I'd claim a
spot on the list of the first run ;)!

As some others have done, I am using a Kropserkel bucket as the MLC is too small for my melon. I'm very happy with it and did modifications to it to make it more screen accurate. I am a 501st Pathfinder Lancer, however I'm sure that means little here.

Someone from France is working on a new bucket, you can see some info here. It looks very similar to the DP.

it would be great if someone would finally tackle a screenaccurate BS helmet.
while i like the overall appearance of the MLC and the Kropserkel helmet both suffer from various inaccuracies...
