Big Lebowski RALPHS card FOUND!!!!

Though I am not an Achiever, I thought those of you who are might want to get one of these. These are not mine but I came across them on the BAY. I thought these were pretty cool. And for only $10 each.

Yeah... interesting place for it to be off, too, because it's not a hard font to match. You know what would be interesting is taking the actual modern Ralph's Club barcode on putting on the back of one of these so you could actually use it.

When I say, "interesting," I mean, "not actually worth the effort."

Is it possible that the reason the font is different and the logo also a more updated version is because someone who works where they print the cards is just running these off on the side? Or maybe has a machine and has access to blanks...

I don't think so. The eBay card doesn't have the ® in the Ralph's logo like the screencap and a real one likely would. At least here in SoCal the cards look completely different as well (black and red) and aren't personalized.

I concur; the current cards look nothing like they did in the early 90's (the era Lebowski is set in). And I had noticed the "®" is missing from the logo. Still, they seem to be pretty good replicas for the price.

The font should be Stymie or something close to it.

Looks like they used Albertus which is a font famous for being used on the TV show The Prisoner.

From the photos it looks like they may have made the cards using vinyl stickers. The R would have been too small to reproduce this way.

Yep, it's slightly different in quite a few ways (from the screen shot) that stand out to my 'trained eye', so why have I just ordered three?

I received my card in the mail today. Like the "magnetic strip" on the back, the Ralph's logo on the front is a vinyl sticker. Aside from that, at a glance it looks like the real deal, right down to the raised gold lettering. For the price, ya' can't beat it! thumbsup
