Best way to paint liquid latex?

I'm getting ready to paint a piece I created for a friend for his film and I've never painted liquid latex before. I'm looking for the best paints and techniques to pain this piece which will be used on an actors face. I'm not sure if it will be applied to the face or just used as a mask.

Do you heavy or base colors with pax (pros-aid mixed 50:50 with liquitex acrylic) or with colored latex (latex mixed with acrylic) this gives the other colors a surface to grab onto that is also pliable and won't crack on the rubber. All your subtle washes and really thin coats can just be acrylic.

FYI, if you mix the pax with more color and less Pros Aide, you will get less shine and less tack. I mix usually a 10 to 1 ratio, and get excellent results.

Here's another tip: after you've painted your piece with the PAX, sponge over it with a layer of matte medium (available at art stores or Michael's or AC Moore). It goes on white-ish but dries clear with a matte finish. That eliminates the tackiness left by the PAX.
