Best way to paint a latex creature costume

Looking for the best way to paint a liquid latex coated creature suit.

I'm purchasing an airbrush setup and was planning on using possibly acrylics..looks like using those, it would be pruned to cracking?

I'm tinting the liquid latex as I'm hand painting it on but wanted to use the airbrush system for fine details & such.

Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated!
