I need to make these temple wings:
But I'm not sure how the best way to do it? I'm fairly skilled with sculpting, but the clay I have is either medium or soft grade, and I live in New Mexico where the ambient temperature of my house is in the 70's-80's, so the clay always stays soft. Plus I need to make two opposite but identical wings. I don't know if I can do that.
I also thought about rendering them, but I don't have modeling software or even know how to use it. So I'd have to get someone else to do it for me, thn send it to shapeways, which I heard was expensive?
Lastly I thought about layering several thin cut-to-shape pieces of styrene, but that wouldn't give me the right feel, as the wings, while flat, still have an organic feel to them IMO.
So what do you all think? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Greg
