Best Trek Uniforms Source Wrath of Khan Style

I have located a professional costume making company in Dallas that is very interested in making these uniform jackets to exacting specifications.

They sent me several professionally made WWII era costumes that blew me away. One was made out of an 80 piece construction and was amazing to try on.... I sent them my measurements and these thingsa fit PERFECT!

I sent a swatch of original jacket material as well as some straps / etc / undershirt material to them.

They have sourced a producer that can make the wool elastique fabric to the exact weight, weave and color... problem is they need $60k to product the roll of 4000 yards. So, now we are trying to source another fabric maker who can do it in smaller rolls.

I'll let you all know what I hear when I hear it.

$60k for 4000 yards is $15/yard, which doesn't seem too bad, but yeah that 4000 yard minimum is a killer. How many yards goes into each uniform? Guessing 4 yards, that would be 1000 uniforms!

Does anyone know a local high school that has maroon as their primary team color and might be interested in $15/yard wool elastique for their marching band uniforms? :lol

But I agree it is encouraging that a company that knows the quality we're aiming for is looking into this.

The idea of the monster maroon sounds great. I wonder if any larger costume or band uniform companies might be interested in sharing the costs of a run? Just thinking aloud.....do dee dooo......

Still sourcing a proper shell fabric...

But a prototype is currently in the works, and we should have some progress to show in the near future!
