Hi! I'm a (paper) propmaking enthusiast and occasionally I also sell some of my designs/original props. Mainly Harry Potter (inspired) props and props based on fairy tales. A lot of these require prints that can handle being wet or damp, for instance when aging them or applying them to bottles or other objects with wallpaper glue. So usually I print them with a laser printer.
Unfortunately my own laser printer has horrible colour quality (I found it in a junk yard, so it probably won't get any better than this) so I used it only for black and white prints. (Like the one posted below.) Yesterday it finally died completely and won't print anything anymore. I've got some money set aside for a new one and I was thinking about getting a laser printer that can also print relatively nice images.
I can't find much info about the image print quality of laser printers, other than that inkjets seem to be much better at image printing than their laser counterparts. But how much better? Are there laser printers that still print a decent enough quality to use for propmaking? If you've got a laser printer you like using for this kind of stuff, I'd love to hear about it! Because I'm really not sure what kind to look for.
