best jedi costume

seriously?

everyone's is pretty much hand made. go to your local rebel legion base (rebellegion.com) and go to a meeting or event and talk to folks. someone local probably makes some good ones.

I found a really good pattern a few years ago at a fabric store. Had my mother-in-law make it for me. The belt and boots were the hardest to get if your trying to save some money.

The hard thing about buying a jedi costume is they tend not to fit as good as a custom made or home made costume.

Most people make em themselves or have a friend sew them up usually. For my gf we used simplicity 5840 I THINK. Although our friend might have used one of hers. That said, there's a lot of modifications that go along with it. Belt, boots, etc.

Hers end up costing around 500 including boots and lightsaber just because we screwed up and had to rebuy all new fabric.

I'm a seamstress and handmade these alot for uk garrison members :) have also made 2 sets for myself and several padawan and youngling costumes :) here's some pics of the latest ones

They are all made of wools, silks and linens and are fully lined. I provide everything for the costume apart from boots and sabers! The belts I get come with all pouches and foodcapsules :)

As I'm on tapatalk I will upload more pics in the next post too :p sorry

That's just to show the lining in the sleeve :) will post up one more of my own costume too :) sorry for separate posts, my iPhone is being difficult :S

I saw some really nice ones at CV by Museum Replicas...not sure of cost - not cheap though.

The costumebase Jedi costumes are low quality. May be cheap, but you get what you pay for.

Museum Replicas costumes are higher quality but also pricey. There is a whole discussion about how their pieces are not very screen accurate considering the premium price you're paying for them. MRL also is not offering full "Buy-It-Now" costumes. They're currently only offering various costume pieces for sale.

Ya know, I was wondering about Museum Replicas route myself....hmmmm.

was wondering if there was a definitive answer on museum replicas yet... a few people I know have been really interested in the Imperial Officer Uniforms!

At the risk of sounding like I'm repeating myself:

I do movie accurate costumes and whilst I charge more than costumebase, I do not charge nearly as much as Museum replicas!! and I belive I offer quite a bit more choice.

You could go the museum replicas route, yet for their prices, I'd say no. You could wear khaki pants too. Some of the actors who played Jedi wore khaki pants

Absolutely stunning work, best I have come across bar none!
A real pleasure to work with and their attention to detail is second to none!

Does anyone have a pattern they can post or email me. I can get one made then. Pm or email me.:love

If there's one thing I'd say, if you're going to use a pattern, seriously consider altering it! Especially the tabbards and robe.

I made mine based off a pattern but altered the tabbards and obi.
