Have a greeblie parts project run on the go and dont have a hyperfirm to try it :rolleyes
Any of you guys glued anything onto your hyperfirm props ,if so what gave the best results ? thanks in advance

it depends on the material the add on part is made of as well as its size. The best is always rubber to rubber. Quality super glue will work as long as the mounting surface on both parts is scuffed up a little and cleaned proper before applying the glue.

I have successfully added real metal and plastic parts to hyperfirm base parts before by using a dowel type mounting system. Anything really to give the part added mounting strength.

This is the only example I have on hand, metal barrel and front into a hyperfirm cut down rifle. Its mounted into a fiberglass rod which is the actual armature of the rifle.

Cheers guys , robstyle I am making urethane rubber parts mixed with urethane resin so they are resistant to knocks for trooping with. Does anyone know what type of rubber is used for hyperfirm props? Basically i dont want the glue to affect the hyperfirm rubber. I am thinking E6000 may be a possibility too. Also can it be screwed into to fix small greeblies?

Hyperfirm is a custom mix and a two part method of both rubber for the exterior and foam rubber for the interior. Ive no idea of the build quality now but when I made them, they had a very thick and heavy skin. When possible I would also make them with a more dense foam inside. The only difference from one or the other is both weight and density. The more dense the foam, the easier it is to drill into and secure a part.

With glue, have at it, its durable rubber. Test it out and see what happens.

As an example, this is a custom bounty hunter gun I had made. Its a grenade launcher with a metal tip on the barrel, metal and plastic switch on one side and a plastic plug on the other. Since it was the more dense rubber, I just had to drill into it just enough for the parts actual mount to glue flush into the rubber. All applied with quality super glue and they stuck well.

:thumbsupNice work robstyle and thanks for the advice , basically though i dont have any hyperfirm props to test glues on !:lol

What i am making is urethane rubber greeblies to go on hyperfirm E11s and the like so i may have to get me a test subject to try out the parts first but from what you are saying it should take most glues , avoiding anything solvent based I am thinking.

thanks again :thumbsup
