i was thinking of having black domes and have them on servos so i could make him have different expressions but i just wanna finish him and give it to my girlfriend for her birthday which was 2 weeks ago. i could however have different eyes which i replace the current ones with which is what i might actually do in the future :)

im actually thinking about making another one for myself and give it a goatee lol

i have finally finished bender a few weeks ago and gave it to my girlfirend who freeked out so much

it was really a great present for her. i have taken a video and have decided to post it for everyone here to see

Can't wait to see this finished!! Hate to go off topic but I can't help myself as i'm a huge Futurama fan. Here's my one off custom guitar I built about a year ago.
I named it the Bender Stratocaster [neck font of Fender changed to say Bender]

thanks guys :)

yes i am manually controlling through RC, i starting writing some code to rotate it but it just didnt work for my skills and the time i had, anyways its more fun moving the head manually.

im using portable speakers which i used in my r2, you just plug a usb with the sound files and away you go. the speakers are connected to a 12v battery and they are placed inside the body

An Ex-Pat friend of mine who I go drinking with told me about VB. She also told me one (apparently) fairly common explanation for the name VB, but I think if I posted it here I'd get into trouble... :angel

Thanks to her I'm now more of a 'Coopers Pale Ale' man.
 
So sorry everyone about not informing you all about the finished product.

I ended up giving Bender to my girlfriend for her birthday and she loved it!

I was lucky enough to go to a convention in Sydney where John was doing signings. I took Bender down there and got him to sign the door (which was an idea from a fellow member here)

Since I have finished my Bender I have completed my r2-d2 and now working on my own web comic along with a few other project.

Thanks everyone for your support while I was building this.
I tried putting up some photos however my net is playing up on me. I will post some photos soon I promise.

from my last post i have mounted the legs onto a wooden board which i have then attched to the body through bolts and nuts making it easier to transport and mroe stable once the body is on.

i have also attachedd the shoulders now and started to do work on the arms.

i glued pvc pipes around the legs to give that effect he has in the show as well as the arms.

i started painting bender over the weekend and was using tamyaya paint (think thats it lol) and here it is 15 bucks for a small can of paint :/ and personally i cant justify that cost. i went to a car paint shop and got a grey primer for 10 bucks in a can size that is 4 times bigger then the other can of paint i was using.

overall im so over the moon with this seeign it come to live has been an amazing thing :)
