here is the first fiberglass helm pull from the new mold,came out great with little need for fill.
the jaw piece has the antenna telescoping pieces cast into the part this was a hard thing to set up but the results were worth it.as you can see from the close up shots of the jaw the antennas have a sharp bend which lock them into the casting. the end of one of the antennas can be seen through the resin in the forth photo.
the whole thing took about 3 hours to cast and set up the prop to this point. the everything lined up great ,this will hopefuly make the build go much faster. I plan on building this one up this week to get a feel for how much time it takes . i was told from Fiberdyne that I should begin recieving helm parts soon. so everything is still on target. the last piece to cast is the helm stand but Im not going to finish that untill I have more progress on the prop itself.
