I just found this posting, and not sure how I missed it, but hey I am here now. Great work Jim, great work, and maybe you answered this question already in this thread, and I missed it, but haven't you built one of these before? Out standing work, just a nice piece of work.

That is fantastic! I have never seen the Galatica in such detail. It is amazing watching the construction.

How many model kits are using in the building and detailing?

Jim, Have you thought about building the reimagined Battlestar Galactica to display side by side with the original?

I have some pics from the previous Galactica that you built saved on my website. I don't remember where I got them but I saved them for historical value.

Thanks guys, the kind words really help keep the enthusiasm going for me on this daunting build. Its taking about 50% longer than I had estimated, but I'm seeing the light at the end of the tunnel now.

I whipped up the rear armature cover plate yesterday. It was something easy to do for a change.

She's coming along..
Finished up the main body top panel and some other little areas.
Nothing really exciting here except for the offensive price tag for some of these kits. Had to shell out about two hundred bucks just to get the battleship turrets for the rear of this panel :angry

Hey man at this point you can't look back at cost, it's a piece that is out of this world!! There is so much love and dedication in here you can't buy that stuff, you almost have to be born with it to get to where you are.......so hats off to you AMAZING WORK!!:thumbsup

Well worthwhile, though. Is the scribing on the plating and the dome derived from the photo-reference?
